You are going to have to mod anything you do. It is old any chances of finding a good header for it are slim.

Yup, 2 chances: Slim and none, and Slim just left town........

Why don't you just grab a stock silencer to go with the stock header? I find aftermarket pipes to Be annoyingly loud if you do any extended riding(says the guy that ran a shortened fmf shorty with a huge short header for 1200 miles, ha). Unless you absolutely need the extra 1.329 horsepower at 5000 RPM
For the record yes I think a dg head pipe would work fine with your Coffman.

How do you know your jetting isn't stock?
"Braap" refers to the sound of a two stroke.
OK, so here is what I would do:
First, run to O'Reilly's, Pepboys or where ever and find a suitable adapter to increase the diameter of the head pipe to match the I.D. of the Coffman muffler. Loosely bolt the pipe to the head, slide the muffler on the pipe and see if you can bolt it up to the frame. Now gently wiggle it around and see if you can come to a happy medium where everything can be clamped and tightened up without damaging the head bolts or the muffler. If you are successful, pull it all apart and weld your adapter to the end of the pipe, put it all back together and ride that bltch.
The headpipe will rotate at the head a small bit in and out from the side of the motor and the muffler will rotate on its mounting bolt to the frame. once you think you have things aligned tighten the headpipe bolts/nuts first, then the pipe to muffler clamp, then the muffler to frame bolt(s). run it and check for leaks. You should be able to feel any leaks by putting your hand by the pipe/muffler junction, same with the headpipe/motor junction. Back when I smoked I'd use the smoke from a coffin nail held close to the junctions and see if the smoke blew around.![]()
Here's the scoop from my perspective: Both head pipes have to follow basically the same path around the motor and along the frame to the muffler. In your pics they look very close to the same bends. The difference in the size of the pipes is minimal and isn't going to affect your horsepower that much. I'm guessing that you will get them to align good enough so you can bolt it up.
Once you get everything bolted up, start at stock jetting and go from there. Or you can have Captain Compression (logjam) swing by and do a leak down test for you before you jet it.

Does your header with the hole fit your Coffman exhaust pipe? I can try tig welding it up for you. I just repaired a buddy's stainless header for a project of his. It turned out good, yours would be tougher, but not to bad.
Update: Found out my uncle is a supervisor at a machinist shop about 40 miles from me. I dropped it off at his house and he should have it done this work week. Some of you are probably thinking. "Why didn't you do that in the beginning?" Well to my defence i barely know the guy and met him like twice. And nit to mention i barely socialise with my biological father side if the family so that adds to the list... when i get it back (if my uncle doesn't flake out) I'll post pics in this thread and my original "200x" thread

just an FYI, a muffler shop could have made it work.
