What, sell the parts to the same hoodlum gangs riding city streets illegally??? Actually, to say most of these people are simply "riding" probably isn't accurate for alot of these cases. Selling them out of state.... How do you do that with machiens that have no documentation of ownership to legally transfer to the new owner out of state??? No police department, town, city, etc is goig to sell something like this when they don't have legal documentation of ownership to transfer...
Have you seen videos of what these people do???
Here ya go, an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30lKGIdOzQY
If the bikes and ATV's that were crushed were confiscated from asswipes like this, then I think responsible people like us should support it! This is NOT the kind of riding I associate myself with and never will. I ride legit, always will. I choose to be part of the solution and not part of the problem, always will. Anyone who gets all nutted up about this story should have a closer look at the story before crying foul on the police for this... Yeah running dozers over them is grandstanding for publicity, but who cares?

no.....I know a guy who used to buy quads and dirtbikes from police impound lots. They are issued new VIN numbers and old ones are welded over. He stopped buying them because of "gang" members who were coming up to him to him and telling him......that quad over there is my boys quads, I got your name, truck and plate number,if you buy it, he is coming over to you to get it back. Also, in that video, they only crushed the "dime a dozen" ones that they can hardly get $500 from. But yeah, it was mostly done for publicity as the deter and show them what is gonna happen to their "rides" if they are caught. I am told that most of the time, cops try to stop them and if they take off, the cops stop chasing. Its way too much of public risk to chase these people on streets. Its been a problem for years in the cities, the dirtbikes are fast, agile, cheap and easily disposed of. Also can't be traced back, as most are never titled or are stolen to start with.
Not a single Hooligan gave a shlt about this spectacle. They know the risks and still ride. All the injustice in the world and they're worried about helmetless dirt bikers riding on the street. Solve some real crime for christ sake.
12 oclock boys kick ass. Philly Hang Gang as well. Thanks for the video joe.
Deathman: I honestly didn't know a VIN could so easily be changed. Point taken and I stand corrected. Good point though on it being risky for the people who buy these machines from the police.
Damon: I hear what you are saying, but these gangs are taking things a fair bit farther than simply riding helmetless. Wouldn't you agree??
Yeah it's a shame the bikes get destroyed, I get it. But if I had to drive every day in an area where these goons are doing stuff like that I would want something done about it too. Just because there are more serious crimes out there being committed doesn't mean we ignore everything else. They make more bikes every day, it's not like they are crushing a row of '70 Chevelle SS's.
But you are right, the hoodlums don't give a single shyte about the demonstration. They'll just go steal another one.

I dont know man. Im sick of people making a big deal out of very small issues when there are big issues being ignored daily. These riders are easy to see and hear coming. If they hurt anyone but themselves, all involved are pretty stupid. Wheelies are not a crime. Helmet laws suck.
Wrongis under the bulldozer. Just sayin...
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

Growing up in Baltimore I can say a few things…First off, the 12 o'clock boys are an awesome spectacle to behold and I've never seen someone hold a longer wheelie. That would all be fine except for a few problems:
-No insurance/tags =no accountability when they hurt someone or destroy property
-PEOPLE USE THEM TO RUN DRUGS (and don't tell me I'm wrong because I've seen it firsthand and have friends that are BCPD)
-damn near all of them are stolen (again don't tell me I'm wrong here because we've seen my friend's stolen DB's riding around)
That being said, Baltimore has bigger fish to fry…like catching Freddie Gray's crackhead mother when she gets loaded and crashes her Lambo into a row of parked cars…oh, but there's a standing order for my friend not to arrest because the Mayor is afraid of another riot. F*** that place, glad I'm outta there.
I'm all for re-titling and selling them (maybe ebay would be a good solution to bring in buyers from elsewhere) to bring some much-needed money back into city schools or city Police/Fire/EMS.
Ragin' full on...
I don't really disagree with most of your last post Damon, other than while I agree that there are bigger fish to fry, I think this is also a fish worth frying. Just another chapter in the endless tug of war between the law and criminals, we can't just do nothing about it. There is so much wrong with the world, where the hell do we start??

At two cents a pound scrap value it seems like they could do something other then destroy them. At least auction them off or donate to trade schools and let students tear em down.
Seems to be catching on in other parts of the world as well.
