TY250? One of the best twin-shock trials bikes of its day! In good shape around here it would probably go for 800 to a grand.

Thanks Drew. That's more than I thought. I'm still learning. It was in there when I wired the shop 20 yrs ago. Hasn't ran in over 20yrs. The owner bought it new and didn't ride it much. He doesn't have that sparkle in his eyes when he talks about, so will see.

Nice find, should be a fun bike to play on. Can't beat those old smokers.

Here is more of this ‘cat’.

Got the unicorn seat in a box. These pics were the day we pulled it out.
It cleaned up real nice and started without any problems after cleaning the tank and carb.
It has the rare ‘trail kit’, that included the long seat, foot peg brackets to move the pegs forward (caps to cover peg mounts)and a longer foot brake lever.

This is what was in the duct tape below the gas tank. Should explain why the left case was cut to expose the front sprocket

This ‘trail seat’ was something else. I thought it was homemade. Apparently, Yamaha wasn’t selling as many as planned and many folks were using them to trail ride, so they offered this kit around’75

You can see here it was purchased with separate prices on each item but also says no charge.

Very cool! I would say the raised front fender is also part of the trail kit.
I have owned 2 trials bikes and still have one of them.

Thank you, I feel the same way-love it!
Probably because it was my father-in-laws bike. Can’t believe it was 20 yrs old when I wired that place. Now it’s 51!!! It was used for 10 years, then stored.
I don’t have any records of the front fender or anyway to know where it came from as life goes. He usually kept exact records of things, so that has always stumped me.

This is very similar from a ‘69
