I might be taking the Type 6 pipe off my R next week, I'll take a few side by side pictures with the hi-rev like you did and post them for future reference.

That would really complete this thread IMO.

What is your take on the Type 6 vs High Rev?

Also what has been done to your ports?

And what make/model and year is you cylinder head?

I am very interested in the info.

    Thanks!

I have what i believe to be a type 6 pipe. it's not in great shape but it runs good. It has a badge that reads "Paul Turner Racing" Here are some pics...it looks like the pipe the op has.

Your pipe does definitely look like a Type 6 but it is not what the OP has. Look at the stinger and where the largest diameter sections are, big difference.

Cylinder/head is 85, light port work, 235 psi compression, 265cc. I think the Type 6 compliments my setup over the hi-rev, lots of low end torque and pulls 14/38 sprockets with 20" tires easily. I still like the hi-rev for faster, wide open riding, you can really feel the extra top end power and over-rev making it a lot of fun. But for the majority of type of riding I do in the woods, the Type 6 works better.

Here are some pictures I took of the high rev and Type 6 side by side. The high rev is the darker pipe, on the left. Hopefully you can clearly see the differences between the two that I pointed out earlier.
