I'm on my last set of Ohtsu P/V 301 tires on the back of my 250SX. Maybe it's because I don't know any better, but I really like the stock ride. Like anyone, I'd like a 4-ply instead of a 2-ply, but I don't want to sacrifice much ride comfort. What are you guys liking these days on the SX, when we can't get the P/V 301 anymore?

I find myself wondering about these Kenda K300 Dominators, for something a little flatter, like a lot of folks seem to like. But I've never heard anyone who has tried these. Also, this gets into a more rigid tire, which I'm curious about the performance and stability you all talk about, but I'm not sure my back would like the more rigid ride.

Not opposed to plain ol' knobbies, but they seem to wear out so quickly! I used to run Cheng Shin C827s, but I was replacing them every year. My P/V 301s have lasted about 3 years.

I have a set of Kenda Scorpions on my 225DX, and those bastards are like Trail Pros...hard as a rock and never wear out! Probably wouldn't buy those.

I am with you 100% on stock ride from the "Roundy Poundies" that come on these bikes stock. The only descent alternative I have found in that size is the Cheng Shin Knobby. Just my opinion, but if it was me, I would not bump up to 4 ply, unless you have a good back and don't mind the ride of a "deuce and a half".

Saw your post on this last night.. Didn't mean to leave it to the crickets, just don't have any experience based advice on the subject. Seems tires sizes, profiles, and tread patterns for our old trikes are being phased out. The selection is greatly diminished. Seems like everything is either flat profile for the sport bikes or round profile log skidder sized tires for the 12" rims found on most of your 4x4's these days. Ever look into who makes 25" tires for 9" rims anymore??? Not too many. I need tires for my '84 BR and want to get 25" back on the rear. I was happy to discover that I can get Mud Lites in that size. But other than those there seems to be about 4 other options left all together and I'm not excited about any of them.

Right now my BR is running 22" OEM Dunlops (I think) from a Yamaha Warrior. The tread, profile and ride isn't bad at all really, I just want 25s back on it. Ever look into something like those???

The Duro HF 2100 is an excellent tire for SX. It is almost exactly same size and ride as the oem tire inflated. The best
thing is it serves as an excellent front steer tire. List price is $66.

ATCTim, you guessed it. I'm not THAT old, but my back and knees would disagree. A soft ride is kinda high on my list. The Cheng Shins were ok ride wise, but just didn't last very long. Still on the list though. Do you like the C827 or C829?

RIDE-RED 250r, those Dunlops look good, but they clearly like to hang onto the mud! Are those 2-ply or 4-ply? Who carries them?

Finally, Tecat-Z, I'm not familiar with the Duro HF 2100. Who carries that one?

Thanks for all your responses! I am well aware how subjective tire choice can be, but it's nice to have some ideas and see what other folks like.

I just got back in from a little family ride and campfire out on the woods about 15 minutes ago.

I'll go out and get the info off the tires tomorrow and post it up. All I am fairly certain of is they are a set of OEM tires from a Warrior and yes if you get them in sticky mud they will get packed. But 98% of the time I am not in that kind of stuff and they generally work real well for the kind of riding I do with it.

Jed, I just looked at the Pathfinder...I really like the tread, but the pic on Amazon makes it look very narrow. Could be a generic pic, I guess. Can you post a pic of those on your trike?

They aren't narrow for sure, I have Pathfinder's on my DR, I can get some pictures soon.
