    1982 Honda 250R Rattle

Bought this bike for $820, will post pictures later.
Anyway, it has this rattling noise under load, and it just doesn't sound quite right.
Here's the video, maybe it can tell you something.
I was told these thing are inherently noisy anyway.
It has good compression, starts and idles fine, and has lots of power.
The other one I had made the same noises and the rod was 0.02 out of spec, if that was even the cause.
    Thanks for the help fellas.

Are you talking about that clanging noise? It sounds like something is rattling on the outside of the motor. Piston slap maybe? Pinging?

Pull the top end off and see what it looks like.

    Yeah.
im trying to avoid taking this thing apart, as TF is next week.
The last one had was missing motor mount bolts and rattled bad.
Im going to check it over this weekend again

    I've had it a week or 2.
I understand nobody can tell me how long.
I impulse bought the thing, since my other 250r was down, and my Dad already took vacation to come with me. Since hes riding my 200X, I needed another trike to ride.
I'm just seeing if its even worth bringing it, or just leave it and bring a quad

Its safe to assume there is a dialect in the English language that only a few can understand, and only one who can speak.....I will learn it one day to understand Glamy.

Premix ratio suggestion to baby this thing through Tf?

32:1 or 36:1 will be fine. If you are worried about that crank bearings a quick check is the following. Pop the cylinder head, rotate piston to TDC, put downward pressure with your hand and rock the piston back and forth with the flywheel and feel for slop/listen for a clanking sound. This is only a seat of the pants check and by no means is the end all be all, however if you don't hear ticking or feel any slack you should be good for the weekend.

My 84 sounded like that right before the rod bearing went.
