Replacement Carb for a 1984 Tecate

Hello all, i have been having a lot of issues with my carb lately for my 1984 tecate. The choke no longer works and the carb leaks ALOT when the gas is on and the bike is not running. Im pretty sure that is a float problem but i just did a rebuild on the carb a little while back. Does anyone know of a cheap replacement for the bike? I found some on ebay for over $200 but would prefer not to pay that much. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Sounds like your needle and seat are dirty.

Other than OEM, there isn't really a direct replacement that doesn't require jetting. If you don't mind jetting, you can grab a used carb off a dirt bike. The yz125, kx125, cr125 and the 250s typically have 34-36mm flat slides.

Here are a few examples of quality performance. Youll want to do your research on the carb. I've got a Kehien PJ38 from cr250 i believe on mine. I love it.

Don't replace it! It sounds like the floats are just stuck! I was having the same problem after the bike sat for 20 years. A thorough carb clean did the job.

Forgot to mention what 350xtrike did!

The carb on mine had a word out needle and seat. I wasn't able to find a rebuild kit for it. But that's ok, It wasn't big enough

    Stuck floats
    Dirty needle seat
    floats set or assembled incorrectly
    worn needle/seat
float that has a hole and leaks (had an old generator with a hole)

Here is a revised idea that should be doable with a 2 part mold. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1659811

Leaking Mikuni you say? No Way !!! They never drip out out of the float bowl overflow tube.....You need a new float needle valve. This valve opens and closes. When it does not close, it leaks.
