'85 ATC 110 front tire question

Got this little 110 the other day for 150 bucks. Been thinking how i wanna hook it all up and one thing for sure is the front tire. Id like to get a more normal, narrower, shorter front tire. Possibly 18's on back and if it will work, a 19 up front. Would it be safe to put a 19x7-8 on the stock 8" wide rim? Would it stretch that 1" and be ok? Id like to keep the stock wheel unless there is a 100% bolt on alternative. Thanks in advance

I'd think you'll be ok doing this. If you go with that much shorter tires, you'll decrease the speed a lot unless you gear up. Are you planning to race this? Just curious why you want to run shorter tires.

Yes, im aware ill have to gear up to make up for the loss in speed. And No, im not racing. In all honesty, i just think it would look a hell of alot better if the tires werent so huge!. Theyre like 2 inches from the fenders. And the front i believe a narrower tire would have better control/response than the huge fat tires. Mainly gonna be a showoff piece, with road riding and flat field type areas. Dont have much in a way of trails here in central Florida... Its also the trike that ill be teaching my 7 year old daughter, and when hes ready in a few years, my son. So i think a shorter lower stance from tires, coupled with some different hubs will give it more stability because its really tippy!!!.btw the ones i was looking at arent really a flat profile tire. Theyre Kenda Scorpions. I was thinking the 18x9.5-8's on the rear, and a 19x7-8 up front.

I put an 18x8.5x8 on the front of my 83 110 and it's just wide enough. Had to do the ratchet strap method and pop the bead with quite a bit of air. Click image for larger version.

Oh wow. So a 7 definitely wont fit then. Stock rim is 8" wide right? So why is it stretched when the tire is actually wider than the rim

stock wheels are 8.5" wide. every tire manufactured is slightly off from its stated size. the kenda measured under 8.5" wide, more like 8.25". plus its 17.5" tall. my 18" turf savers measure 18.5" tall with same amount of air as the kenda.

You will do goo with the 19x7-8 tire and use a 8x6 Douglas wheel ! putting the shorter tires on the rear will give you a stiffer ride for sure speed won't be a factor LoL

The pic is a stock photo, but I think i have one figured out. If i switch to an 82 and earlier 110 hub up front(which i already have a spare), then this should work. Its an 8x6 3/100 3+3 (centered). Dr.Atv also has the same wheel. Then i can throw a skinnier tire with a nice new one piece wheel up front
