    My new 250sx

Hello all recently I purchased in 1985 250sx I was just wondering if you could tell me if there are any common problems or issues with this model I am thinking of fixing it up and using it for my main bike

Most will tell you to change the differential oil right away. They're pretty solid bikes; I've never had an issue with mine.

Change oil and plug and ride. I own two of them. I just restored one to showroom condition, it was my high school graduation gift in 1985.

I concur with what was said above. Keep all the fluids clean, and your good. I also own two, one of which, like Cajun ive had since new. They are a pretty rock solid trike.

Great machine! Just make sure to read up on how to keep the rear end dry and sealed. The 85 was a little different design than 86/87, and was a little more prone to letting water into the rear end. My policy is that if I go through any water, the rear axle lube gets changed. It uses very little, so this really isn't as bad as it sounds.

    Have fun!

Wow yeah, you stole that. I bet it will clean up nicely. Shoot, it beats the hell out of the $180 pile I bought some years back ( see my project thread in below my sig line below).

Make sure you don't put a tire on the frt that is to wide I've seen 3 or 4 sets of forks that had the inside of the fork worn so bad that they had a hole in them. As for reliability keep it full of oil and it will out last you

What size do you recommend for a frount tire?
I just put new handlebars on and ordered a new starter solenoid now all I need is a set of tires
