    Acquired an 83 YTM200

Brother got this machine free. Then sold me it two days after we picked it up for a 100 bones.

It's a running machine! missing air box. but looks complete other than that. I'll grab some pictures when i get home.

The vin shows it to be a 1983 YTM200. Is there anything special i should know about these? Any weak points that may need inspected or reviewed?

It looks to have been painted blue at one point. Most of the paint has come off fortunately.

Does it have electric start? Not sure if they made electric in 83. Very solid bike and commonly overlooked. The forks suck and are not worth rebuilding because if the seals leak it's likely because the forks are bent. Some small parts are tough to come by. The motor is a work horse and very reliable. The motor is still in production today in I believe the xt225 bike. Fun machine mine was given to me and will never leave the fleet.
