1987 HONDA ATC250SX - Sticker on forks says 6/86 - Need Information Please

Good Afternoon.

I am the parts and distribution manager for an auto salvage company in North Carolina. I was in our yard today
taking pictures of parts to be posted on Craigslist. We took a Honda ATC in trade for some parts last year and had
some questions. This seems like the place to pose these questions.

On the fork (and I will attach a photo) the ID sticker says " 6/86 " - were only 86 of these ATCs made in 1987? I have been
reading what information I can find on your boards and it appears 1987 was the last production year for this model. When we took the
trike in trade last year it did run when we put it in storage. What would you members believe this trike in fair condition would
be worth? I will attach photos. I know the vehicle is not in great condition but the more I research the more I find it an interesting
piece of machinery. Any info or suggestions would be much appreciated.

The 6/86 is the month and year it was built or assembled. June of 1986. Just like in the auto industry the for instance new 2017 vehicles start coming out in 2016 same with trikes and ,bikes and quads.

HAHAHA. Oh my gosh. I literally just started laughing because I never even considered that as a date. I took the " / " to mean "of." Thank you for your understanding at my moment of total brain loss. Would you think $300-$400 is reasonable to ask as starting price?

Thats what i was thinking!!! Hell that thing looks pretty complete, just really dirty!! Keep that thing, clean it up and get it going and fall in love with it. Or just send it down to me! Ill give ya 400 for it lol

Good morning.

I want to thank everyone who replied and gave me input. I was able to sell the 250sx for $400. I posted it on CL and someone came by a couple hours later and bought it. If I had the time I would have loved to keep it but that is not a current option. It is amazing how many people will want to bring us ATC and ATVs in trade for vehicle's or parts. I may start taking more in trade as I now know that there is a market for older and quality products.

I have a 1987 Honda 200X and the tag says 5/86. I wonder what the first month of production actually was for 87's?
