    Reverse troubles on 200es

Hi I just picked up a 1984 big red 200es yesterday and it was in good condition cosmetically speaking but with a little tinkering I got the motor running. Well anyways my big red will not switch into reverse. It won't budge at all. What could be the problem?

Have you changed the oil? Cleaned the filter rotor? Done basic start-up maintenance (chain lube/brakes/fuel tank clean)? PLEASE do this before anything else regardless of previous maintenance record, you'll thank yourself later if you take care of the basic stuff right off the bat. (you can find a list of ATC manuals here: http://www.oscarmayer.net/atc/manuals/, it has service tables for ya.)

It should only be shifted into Reverse from neutral position. Refer to this thread: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...-200es-reverse

If prev. owner let it sit for a long time without running it, the shifter could also be frozen up from lack of usage. Does it go into high and low properly, but won't go into reverse? Or is the lever stuck completely?

That was easy! Glad you got it fixed. Sometimes the simplest fixes are just user error.
