need pics of 84-85 200x swing arm skid plate installed

when i got my 200x the skid plate mounts were broken off. i had a spare, ruined swing arm with good skid plate mounts. i cut them off and welded them onto the current swing arm. looks like i went too shallow. when i bolt up the skid plate, the front of it hits the chain. i was thinking of putting spacers between the swing arm and skid plate but need to know how much clearance i should have to make the current length spacers. itll be somewhere between 1/4-1/2" spacer needed. havent had a chance to measure.

pics of space between front tip of the skid plate and chain, and rear of skid plate and sprocket would be great if possible. thanks guys.

for chain tension, is it correct to have 1/2" travel up and 1/2" down from center with the suspension loaded? its what i've read. wanted to be sure. first atv/atc. want to make sure its all good before its maiden voyage at RR. been a fun project in my spare time.

Tension is right I would space that front down just a little bit. Does it rub when you sit on the bike?

id have to bolt it on and see. may be able to do that tonight. its actually lifting the chain a little there. im out of town this weekend. if i cant do it tonight, ill do it next weekend. what should i have like 1/4-1/2" gap between the chain and skid plate?

About a 1/4. Just enough so that it isn't constantly riding on it.

Throw it away and run a sprocket gauge. I hate skid plates, they never last.

Not OEM but 200x swinger with PRM skid plate, you do not need much of a gap between the skid plate and the chain so long as it is riding parallel to the skid plate.

did a quick search for the sprocket guard. where can i get one and how would i protect the brake rotor?

this bike will see some mud and ruts where i live. maybe some small logs and branches hidden. no rocks.

You might be able to bend down that front of the skid plate just a little with a big pair of channel locks to gain a bit more clearance.

I would use about 3-4 washers with a slightly longer bolt to attach the skidplate with, that should work for you. put the extra washers between the plate and the swinger mount.

i use a 450R sprocket guard on mine. skid plates i just cut off around anything else but the rotor. I ride in rocks. I run same stuff on my kawi 450R also.

thats what i was thinking of doing. local hardware store has nice thick hardened washers. like 3-4mm thick.
