    New BIG RED Projects

Pulled (2) 1982 and (2) 1983 200E BIG REDS in the shop recently. Going to restore one of each year and then sell the good usable parts. I’m looking forward to the challenges of restoring these early BIG REDS. I already see some things that concern me like the welded front end, homemade taillight, homemade air cleaner, and wire nuts. First thing I will do is go over the 4 and see what parts I am missing for the restoration. Many of the 1982 and 1983 200E BIG RED parts are interchangeable. Right now I need one dash pad and one center section of the rear rack. I will choose the two to restore, get them mechanically sound, then break them down to do the cosmetics.

That is funny with the bar welded to stop the terrible front suspension from bottoming out. That's why I like the solid front ends.

You have some work ahead of you, but actually quite nice machines to start with. I've seen smaller bed pillows than that home made air filter.
