woke up to this, this morning.

    http://nohva.com/

some nincum hit our riding club with another frivolous lawsuit. our state does not have a bike registration system to pay for trail upkeep/maintenance etc, so this was who actively took care of our riding areas. there is hope that the land owners will keep the areas open, but with the unruly disrespectful youngsters causing problems non-stop i see them closing sooner than later.

It is the sad reality of the new world order. Otherwise I would have a swap meet , XXC ,flattrack, and mx track groomed and ready all the time. No way NO HOW. It is so sad the ignorance that surrounds us nowadays. An old school racer had a very traumatic leg injury earlier this year. Racing a 3 wheeler. My understanding is he said it happened at work. His insurance company I assume knew something as it was stated that they were going after the owner of the racetrack.Sounded super scary to me,insurance fraud is no joke.
Please help those who cannot help themselves.

ALWAYS buying Museum quality machines,3 and 4 wheels. And any and ALL ,NOS parts,EVERY brand.

I am turning my PM's Off,my Email is billsracing@hotmail.com,put 3WW in the subject. Thanx!

Although it's sad, thanks for posting this. Our riding spots are being sold off and locked up or protected and restricted.
It's more people not taking responsibility in their actions. They will overpower an area and ruin it. Then move on to ruin another.
It's here, also. Hardly a place to ride anymore, unless you like forest service roads where every tom, dick & Harry ride & drive.
I fella just bought property here, built a motox track and is now being sued by a bunch of Neighbors.
Keep your heads up guys, it could be coming near you.

disappointed to say the least. at the moment nohva are also half way into a multi year project of completely redoing the campground/parking area. well i guess they were. not anymore.

these dirtbags are all from out of state, are not or never have been members, and were not riding at a nohva sanctioned event. the lawsuit, just like the previous one a couple years ago will get thrown out, but just having these suits filed remove all chances of the club to acquire liability insurance to cover the jamborees we use to raise money for these type of improvements. no more of that.

the parenting, or lack there of is the problem. i have seen this first hand many times at campgrounds at the headworks.

heres hoping craig, his dad, and the other organizers can do some kind of restructuring after all this washes over to keep our areas open. without an organized body such as this we have no line of communication with the land owners, and governing bodies in regards to our riding areas.

Riding here is all but dead...No parks here allow 3 wheelers, which are absolutely villified....But SxS's travel in packs on public roads, through town, no one gives them a second look.

Good luck finding private land to ride on. They hear "3 wheeler" and that's the end of the conversation. ATVs and dirtbikes aren't permitted anywhere in the forest but maybe one or two short trails (although there are miles and miles and miles of roads only a mile from my house)

Just a few years ago i could go to my grandparents and take the access road and ride hundreds of miles of hunting club roads back in the woods during the off season. Now its gates and fences and signs. Somebody went missing back there once and ended that. Riding alone and got lost, i assume.

Every day we are closer and closer to having nowhere to ride. And the people that sue for injuries don't care that they ruin it for the responsible among us who just want to stay safe and have fun. I have a hard time seeing anybody win any amount of money in those cases. Who swung their leg over it in the first place? But like you say, it's the principle of the thing. People that mean well don't want to end up in court over some whining because they were nice enough to provide a place for him to ride and he sprained his ankle. And personally i can't blame them.

Unfortunately i fear its a road there's no turning back on.

It's sure looking that way, I hope it never comes to that. But w.ouldn't be great if we could somehow get rid of these damn lawyer's or change the laws some how? The nra was formed for the gun world, so why we (riders ) put are damn heads together and figure something out

As I have said many times, there is no way of saving the USA unless it starts with getting rid of ambulance chasers. Any time somebody goes to a lawyer about an injury the first thing they do is file suit against anyone that may have possibly been involved. Why people think that they're entitled to something after doing something stupid of their own free will is beyond me, but hey I guess everybody wants to win the lottery, right? It's to the point now that if your next-door neighbour has a child with a birth defect and they can prove that you fertilize your lawn, or spray your trees for insects that you should be responsible for their child, yet if they smoke, drink, or use prescription meds during the time of consepcion that's irrelevant. Hell, forget out of State, you don't even have to be legally in the USA in order to sue an American citizen if you feel you've been wronged. How's that for taking care of your citizens? Just goes to show you who's really running the country.

woke up to this, this morning.

Growing up I could ride all around my house on neighbors lands and on the back roads, even go fishing. Now it's all fenced in and gated off. All the large tracts of property is owned by oil companies or logging companies. We even have one piece of property in my state that was shown on a tv show in the last few years with the family supposedly inventing hunting and fishing gizmos, but as truth would have it the owners acquired it in a shady deal with a standing governor. Then thousands of acres was then completely fenced in, including trapping wildlife, and used for commercial hunting trips with privileged rich guys and politicians.

who goes out and buys a bike or ATV or other off road vehicle, then goes and sues when they crash (which everyone does from time to time) ? do they think they are so important that they shouldn't get hurt or crash? its going to come down to riders needing to have their own insurance before being allowed to ride anywhere now... another costly expense just to have a little bit of fun.
