20/20 Hit Piece on 3 Wheelers

It has been years since I've seen the 20/20 hit piece on 3 wheelers but I came across it the other day on Youtube (see link below). Watching it makes my blood boil as if it happened yesterday. A bunch of greedy lawyers and idiots at the CPSC regulating an industry they know nothing about. Just imagine how much 3 wheelers would have evolved if these know-nothings hadn't taken it upon themselves to rid our sport of its inherent dangers. Yeah, if your inexperienced or reckless you can get hurt on one, but that is true of any machine. Imagine an 87, 88, 89 250r, Tecate, and TRI-Z. Maybe 4 wheelers would have eventually replaced 3 wheelers, but at least we would have gotten a few more years of machine development.

Our ancestors would have banned horses if they had had that mentality.

I remember a guy saying to me once "They make us wear seat belts and helmets and then let us drive 60mph towards each other with nothing but a double yellow line separating us" while referring to a single lane highway back home. Big brother sucks it!

this is interesting. I did a little search on Terrance Scanlon. He's the twat in the glasses in the video saying how dangerous trikes are and how he needs to save us from them. Guess what he does now? he's the head of the "Capital Research Center". Read this link as to what they're all about. Little bit of a 180 from his days banning lawn darts and hondas.

Just about anytime someone is killed or seriously injured, its tragic but our mortal life is fraught with risk no matter what you are doing. Over the years, several thousand kids and adults have been killed on bicycles. How about skateboards? Skiing? [Fill in the blank]? Every single year over 30,000 people die and countless more are seriously injured in car accidents. Why three wheelers got singled out? I did not grow up riding three wheelers but I had friends that did. My dad was into motorcycles so I cut my teeth on a Honda mini-trail before getting an XR75, Kawasaki 100, Honda 125 and then the 250 which I still have. I did not get into three wheelers until two years ago and can't believe how much fun they are. Yeah, they are tippy so you take your time getting accustomed to them. This past August, I broke my ankle dirt bike riding. It was my fault, not the motorcycle's.

It is called agenda. Any statistic that is given out by politicians or government or media is almost always skewed in their favor. They want to convince you of their way of thinking. The only reason possession of firearms has not been banned is that pesky constitution listing it as a fundamental right.

Most people don't realize that when media talks about the massive gun violence that they are including suicide as gun violence. They talk about assault rifles as an epidemic. Most actual firearm fatalities involve hand guns. Only a very small percentage involves rifles of any kind. In fact the total number of homicides by rifles is less than homicide by bare hands. And the media would have us believe that the country is ultra violent because of the fact that the people can legally own guns, when actually our actual homicide rate total is lower than most multicultural nations. Not to mention that most of the actual gun related homicides involve illegally obtain guns.

Similar scenario with three wheelers. The media and lawyers working for these groups that want to protect us at all costs including our freedom wanted three wheelers gone so they came up with a scam to get it done. They use feelings instead of logic for their story. They used a professional stuntman instructed to roll an ATC with flat tires using visible body English. They got the support they needed because lil jimmy and lil Susie would be safe for it. The public just goes along with it. Out of all our congress only Ron Paul voted against banning three wheelers, because the public should decide if it is too dangerous or not.

The "ban" was only a temporary agreement know as a consent decree, that expired years ago, and technically only applied to the manufacturers who where involved.
But alas, when just a few years ago some Chinese manufacturers started trying to import some new pitbike sized three wheelers, the wholes went ahead and actually passed a ban.

Looks like our beloved trikes also made a list of the top 10 most frightening motorcycles to ride, even though it is not a motorcycle. It's an interesting read though.

Hahaha . I love the last sentence. Still getting a bad rap. So here is a question, street trikes (Harleys etc.) are ever popular now days. I have never ridden one. How do they handle? Are they more stable?
