    barn find 1981 250r

hey, new member here and need some help. I came across a 1981 250r and the story behind it along with how it looks sounds like has been sitting for at least 30 years. I cleaned carb and it fired up and runs perfect but the seat pan has disintegrated and the foam is shot as well. I looked online and can't find anything used or new for seat pan and need help finding one and bringing this thing back to its glory days. if anyone has a seat pan or foam it would be much appreciated. Also the front fender is shot but I can use it. I'm on somewhat of a tight budget but any info would help guide me thanks.

Here is a seat base on ebay. A few others were selling the foam.

    Maybe this is something: http://spokane.craigslist.org/snw/5814635786.html
It says 83-84, but I'm inclined to think it 1st generation stuff. It's been listed for months. Welcome to 3ww.

Theres a great tutorial on Cosmic quads for making your 1 piece seat cover out of a piece of vinyl.
Heres mine for my 200X. Just used a piece of Marine grade vinyl and a good stapler. Total cost= $12 bucks

Hi and welcome! I would highly recommend giving Tammy at cosmic quads a call and see if she could accommodate you. She or Rob may even have a pan sitting around so you don't have to go searching for one. You can send her a PM. Her user name is Mrs. Mosh.

You can still get the desert foam and cover from HI FLIGHT. As for the pan DC plastic has one. I searched for a few months to find a good stock pan. Cosmic quads is also a good option as said above.Click image for larger version.

ID:	235615 This is what the desert foam looks like. It gives you a little more Cushion than the stock foam.
