Has anyone bought those colored silicone radiator hoses from ebay, if so how were they in terms of durability and dependability? I was also wondering what coolant should I run, will 50/50 mix work or does it have to be a special coolant?

I've read here that the silicone hoses do not flex like the stock rubber hoses. That leads to a higher probability of blown head gaskets. Just passing that on, i personally have never used them.

Alright so that would be a negative on silicone hoses, what kind of coolant is recommended because i have no idea if i should use 50/50 or what.

    This makes absolutely zero sense.

The silicone hoses work fine. I found that the cheap ones you have cut to fit some, they work great. No problems from mine in a year.

Any 50/50 mix works. Nothing special. With the 50/50 you don't have mix. Just pour it in. I run Zerex Asian anti-freeze 50/50. But the green will work.

I'm running them on my R. I had to cut quite a bit off of one of the hoses to get it to fit but they work just fine.

Yes the silicone hoses are fine, they had to be cut to fit. And 50 /50 mix works in my r. I've had no problems

Another plus for the silicon colored hoses. Some trimming required, but they look and hold up great.

Thanks guys, gonna bite the bullet and order some blue ones. If a 50/50 mix works what brand can I run in it, don't want to put car coolant in it.

Sorry about that....thinking this iPhone is going haywire....anywho, you can just get the prestone 50/50 at autozone. Easy peasy
