    Oooooo, that's tough.
As I sell shoes on Ebay for a living, all transactions are through Paypal.
I can attest to the fact you can be screwed over my other people.
That being said, I've never had any dealings like that and can't say.
With Paypal, all you need is an e-mail address to receive or send payment.
I believe through Paypal, you can send invoices for products.
2 things you need to do before to go through with this.
    1. Read up on Paypals policys regarding these kinds of transactions.
    2. Call Paypal directly and talk to them. Explain to them the kind of deal that's going on.
Ask any and all questions you want to know.
Tell them about concerns, ask as many questions as you can. And ask them about covering yourself if this guy trys to screw you outta the money AND a bike.
They will be very helpful with giving you any and all the info you need bud.
    Good luck

What the Monster said, you can get royalty screwed using PayPay to take the funds. All he needs to do is say the trike is no good and that he's sending it back. He then gets a receipt for sending an empty pallet to you and you're toast as PayPal will be on his side. This was a scam in Europe a year or so back. PayPal said they were investigating options, but I haven't heard anything since.

Deal is with a Travis Gisclair of D&A restorations. Anyone on here deal with him? He's down in Louisiana.

I have not. Please use utmost caution with this sale. As El said this was a scam at one point.

Did you happen to talk to Paypal yet?
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask me bud. I have a bit of experience dealing with Ebay, Paypal, annoying customers, how the system works, how to play their stupid games.
Make sure of what guarantees you get to make sure you are not screwed over
El Camexican said exactly what can end up happening. Worse yet, you could end up paying the bill for the empty pallet back.

Best bet is to look into the invoice option.
With that, you should be able to write terms and conditions on the sale, like sold as is, no returns, etc.

    But simply put,
Better to be safe than sorry.
There is a butt for every seat.
So if you don't sell it to him, don't sweat it.
Someone will come along, in person, with cash, and you wont have to worry or have the headache.

I am going to call them tomorrow. He has already sent me 500 dollar deposit. Said he has to transfer money tomorrow and will send the rest. He is supposedly building a ton of tecates for some collector. I'm as nervous as a whore in church about it all.

If he wants the trike bad enough, he will figure out a way to pay you either by check and you hold it until it has gone through or something else.
I have been through this type of transaction and it is just not worth it.

So my advice would be take a different route.
You are already stressing so maybe follow your gut.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

He said he would send a certified check. I think I will go that route. I thought maybe some of you would know who this guy was. He restores old trikes and is doing a bunch of tecates that are pretty impressive. Was hoping someone on here could verify the guy was honest. I hate to be this way but I dont trust anyone these days.

    .
This is incredibly simple . I use Paypal all the time and just ran around $50,000.00 thru there . Just have him pay you using the friends and family feature and tell him not to attach any note . You will have the money in less than 60 seconds and Paypal has no control over it if the guy doesn't like the bike if he uses this method . Once the money appears in your account it is yours forever and ever amen.

You need to wait until your bank says his bank has actually paid them if you are concerned about it . This can take 3 to 10 days.
