Already a reality here in NY thanks to the (un)Safe-Act of 2013. Thankfully it has not been implemented, nor is it even close to being so as the infrastructure needed is nowhere near ready.

Just like the EPA, the BATF has been given the authority to "regulate" by congress.... And therein lies the problem... Create an unelected, unaccountable regulatory agency, congress grants it the power to "regulate", regulations carry the full weight and penalty of law. Abolish regulatory agencies.

Oh and I have no earthly clue how they can call smokeless powder explosive. It is very mild in terms of volatility compared to black powder. Ask your local LGS how much more stringent and cumbersome the maintenance of a license to store and sell black powder is compared to smokeless... Hold a match to a teaspoon size pile of loose BP and see what happens... DO the same with smokeless, it will burn like a sparkler. It needs pressure along with an intense ignition source to explode and fire the projectile...unlike BP....

As far i know Black powder is a low explosive and smokeless powder just smokes and fizzes. What is more dangerous is the flash powder used in caps and primers.

As explosives go, it certainly is less intense than say C4. It takes alot more BP to make the same amount of explosive energy in C4.. But it is still volatile, all it takes is a stray spark and it WILL go boom... Same is absolutely untrue of smokeless.. Like you said, it fizzes. Kind of like the difference between gasoline and diesel fuel if you'll allow the analogy.

I watched a documentary some where ( Or read it here somewhere ) that manufacturers that produce 22LR DON'T make a profit off of them. And that's why they are in short supply and cost $45 for 500 rounds for 22.

I honestly like 17HMR better after the whole 22 shortage. 17 was getting hard to find but not too bad. 17HMR is my go to gun for a rabbit gun

I know a guy that has blasting caps. Was at my uncle's place and I heard a huge boom and im thinking "aww shnit! Someone accidently shot a gun inside the house". In the corner of my eye I see a dust cloud about 3 miles away. My uncle says " 'soenso' is playing with caps again."

Thought I'd share since we are talking about explosives

Three or four years ago, I would have vehemently disagreed with you, Joe. After this election cycle/media circus/grand brainwashing I now wholeheartedly agree with you.
