A buddy and I took our machines to visit our farmer friend who lives about 7 miles away and has a nice cabin along the Beaver River. We managed to show up in time to help him shovel off his truck and trailer in preparation for hauling bales much to his delight. As you can see, old man winter is with us already dropping 6-8" of snow last week followed by freezing rain adding a 3/4" crust of ice on top to make things worse. Thankfully, some snow has melted in the open areas since it's been warm out lately. It's going to be a long winter for the deer having snow this early and might be the reason that we seen over 20 deer feeding in the fields in broad daylight. I tried getting photos but my camera (and skills) are limited. Overall it was a great day and we enjoyed sliced moose roast with onions on buns cooked on the wood stove.
