Talking I need help!! Honda 200X

Helloo! I am new to 3wheeler world and I am needing help! I have a 200X that I am trying to restore. I cannot find anywhere to buy parts hardly at all. I want to lift it a bit and put some nice tires on it. It was running better than ever for a few days but currently started dying after about 10 mins of riding/idling and wont start back up until I let it set over night then it just does it all over again the next day. I'm so tired of kicking starting it, lol. The carb just got rebuilt. Also, It's still got the metal tank on it that is starting to rust out a bit, i'd like to restore that as well, any tips? I would appreciate any and everything at all!

Sounds like a fuel flow issue. You may have just had the carb rebuilt, but the little bit of rust in the tank can send a tiny chunk into your newly cleaned carb and block it up. Follow the flow of gas to get it working again. Start by flushing out the tank with apple cider vinegar (Fill it, let it sit for a couple days, then empty, rinse with a baking soda and water solution, then fill with gas - search this site for more detail) this will clear out most of the rust. Clean out the filter on the petcock, then install an inline fuel filter. Clean the cap to be sure iot is breathing (There is a post on youtube showing how to take apart the cap without damage), finally clean out the carb again. Try that; if it does not work then you know it is not a fuel flow problem and you have a clean fuel source. Next is electrical. (I hate this part) You need to start testing components. I have no advice on that, I am sure someone will jump in from here.

Welcome! I have a 200X I just recently bought and restoring as well. I also have a couple 200S's and a 250SX. I only got into three wheelers two years ago when I bought the 200S's and got hooked. I have mostly been able to find all the parts I have needed on ebay. Also I have found new parts from "Bike Bandit" and other internet ATV/motorcycle parts companies. New and used parts are quite plentiful in my experience. Regarding your 200X dying after ten minutes, my 200S was doing that to me when I first brought it home and it was due to the gas tank not breathing. The gas cap was clogged and not allowing the tank to take in air as the gas was consumed. That creates a vacuum and stops the flow of fuel and the engine starves. I would check that. I bought a good used cap off ebay and have not had a problem since. You can also take those caps apart and clean them. I had to do that for my 200X. On my 200X, I had to buy a used tank because the one on it was extremely rusted. I attempted to fix the tank but it was too much work. I also replaced the carb. I got it running very well now. I have restored tanks in the past using "Kreem". If you are not familiar with it, it is a process of using acid to remove the rust and then cleaning out and neutralizing the acid and then coating the inside of the tank with a paint-like coating. Kreem is not exactly cheap tho. There are other methods that are less expensive such as using vinegar, electrolysis or muriatic acid. Muriatic acid is the acid that the Kreem system uses and it destroys rust in a hurry. You can readily buy a jug of muriatic acid at home improvement stores for less than $10. The acid can be neutralized afterward with a mixture of baking soda and water. It is then up to you if you want to leave the inside bare metal or not. The most expensive but permanent option is to buy a plastic tank. Clarke makes at 200X tank but it is $240. There are several "fix it" videos on youtube that show the rust removal process as well as just about any other repair you are doing on your trike.
