Question 1986/7 200X oversized tank options?

    Hey guys,

I am looking at buying a local 86 200X. She runs, just needs some TLC. I had two 400ex's and just sold one, now I may get this 200X and sell the other HAHAHA Would love a nice 350X but they go fro crazy money around these parts.

I wanted to know if there are any options for oversized tanks on the 86/7 200X? I searched IMS and Clarke but they only make ones for the 83-85 chassis. Has anyone here tried making one from another machines oversized tank? As long as it can be made to look clean on the end product I would be happy.

    Thanks guys!

Although I don't think anything from IMS is available, I've moved tanks back an inch just to make them fit.

Maybe an XR, maybe the 350X BIG IMS??

Of course fabricating skills are necessary...

It may require some trimming of the rear fender so no NOS stuff for this method.

Thanks for the input Dirtcrasher! I would need to buy a Maier fender anyway so I have no objections to trimming that.

So do you make brackets for the actual mounting holes since I assume they won't line up? I would have to make a call on whether to buy the 350x vs XR tank, they are a little too pricey to just buy both haha
