    TRI Z , VIN # and Engine # question.

Hello, Im looking at a Tri -Z project, but the VIN# is diffrent than the engine #, likley due to a blown motor in its past.
Question: Are these #s originally the same ? Or whete they diffrent to begin with?

If possible could some check their bikes and reply as to what the orig frame & motor # read, and (what should mine look like)?

I'm in Calif & I just dont want any further hassles as the bike already has no paperwork ( it comes up clean though) from the CHP.

Thank you in advance for any replies

The vin numbers dont match, if your bike showed up as not stolen then you should not be concerned anyways.

Fret not any further, get the Tri Z and seek out Jesweinhart....

Yes the numbers should match, for example if the frame number is JY31RX007GC003822 the engine number should be 1RX003822

Thanks so far, if anyone else could provide some examples of how their frame VIN lines up vs their engine # it would be greatly appreciated.

Theres alot of conflicting info out there, but Calif does not make it easy for simple things
