Sup every one. I'm having fitment issues with all balls steering stem bearings. Just wondering if any of you guys ever ran into this. It's an 85 200x, the bottom triple tree is to low and the top race sticks above the frame roughly an 1/8 of an inch. Any help would be awesome. thanks

The bottom race is not fully seated. Either that or you forgot to knock out the old races.

The old races are out but there's a washer the kit came with that needs to come out. That'll help but it still won't be enough.

I had the same issue, I ran a long bolt (Foot long all thread) through the neck and put big washers on each end. Hit it with an impact or just a wrench and it will seat them in a little deeper

Thanks fellas I'm 100 percent sure I got them seated fully ,I have the bare frame on the bench and I see everything. I'm gonna run down to the shop and give another look. I'll let you know. Thanks again guy's

I was 100% sure until I sent them back. Sent back brand new bearings and re-installed my old ones and then the old ones wouldn't fit. I realized I had not seated the bottom race in completely. Even tho the race was flush with the steering neck tube, it still needed to go in another 8th.
The top is going to be above the neck tube, from my experience.
Another thing that will help is freeze the bearings for atleast 30 minutes and then heat the neck where the races go up with a torch until you can drop water on it and immeadiatley boils the water.
Then pound them in and they should fit.

Thanks Jacob monster. I got it. It was the washer on the bottom that came with the kit, I took bearings off the bottom tree and eliminated the washer and it fits. It was operater error. Lesson learned for me. Thanks again guy's

When you punch out the old ones, save them and grind the O'D' down a few thousandths.
I use that, a 5/8 threaded rod (bunch of thick washers) and a 1/2" plate with a 5/8ths hole in it to pull them into place.
They are a tight fit!
