In the hospital for a cat bite to the left index knuckle. I was holding her for the vet and she got me. Thankful for this forum and Plasticos, who has me in really good hands right now. I'm very grateful to know so many great people.

Those little bastards have more power to their bite than you would think. I had a kitten get me on the finger once and it hurt like hell. Didn't end up where you did though.

Luckily no one was behind me. Tried my lithium ion battery jump pack but it kept giving me a fault when I tried to start. Pushed it out of the wash bay and there happened to be an AutoZone 2 doors down.

100 month Honda battery was 4 months out of the free replacement but I was not the one that purchased that one and didn't have receipt. Plus, there wasn't a dealership anywhere around. When you are where I was at, you cough up the $$$ and just replace the dang thing.

I just replaced the battery in my wife's car, tires on her car earlier this year, new tire on the kid's car, battery on this......I bet I spend $2k/year on tires and batteries.
Wife's Honda battery went out before it was two years old. Then there's Mercedes and their custom sized $400 POS batteries. Glamy's right, they hide all the good stuff from us.
    It sucks to get old

    Doing well glamy-
Think my age is catching up w/me though-it’s cold here. Really don’t care for winters anymore like I used too.
One more outside (two week) job outside then inside work for the next three after that. Well springs only 3-months away..... sitting in the warm truck now/ thinking maybe I’ll drop what I’m doing and come back tomorrow when it’s supposed to be warmer- then downpours on Friday. Hmmm maybe I’ll just call it a week and be done

You and your family have a great holiday too....
    Shep

    Fishin’/blue waters/palm trees- ya that’d be nice....

What are you doing today? Thread

I hope the cat's going to get better now Shep but time will tell. You were here the last time she got shots, this time I've changed her diet as well. Fingers crossed.

So now that I'm home, this is the whole schpele. The cat's had an ongoing bladder problem but I can't take her to the vet because she goes insane. I am friends with the owner of the local veterinary clinic so thankfully he comes right to the house here. She's been with me since she was a kitten and loves me like crazy, but she's not too keen on others. There are some people she's gotten used to but it has to be on her terms, and she doesn't like women or other cats. Dogs she can deal with to a degree, but she calls the shots.

As I said, she bit me as I was trying to hold her for the vet so he could get her with the needle. It's very difficult to restrain her and she doesn't respond to scruffing. She would never normally bite like that.

Well in a matter of about two hours my finger was swollen and painful and leaking stuff. I put ice and neosporin on it and went to bed that night. The next day it hadn't improved. Late in the afternoon I went to see my neighbors and they said I should go to the hospital, so I started googling cat bites and it became clear this was a big deal. The first thing I did was message Plasticos, then I headed for my local VA, but I was really waiting to hear from Plasticos.

The VA is not like your regular kind of healthcare, it is it's own thing. I don't think it's bad and it's what I know best. That being said, sometime around 2005 I had to go to my local VA for a severe case of poison ivy. I've had poison ivy tons of times, but this was bad. Welp, the nurse kept calling it "poison ivory", even after I corrected her twice. So there was that...

The VA here also didn't catch my Lyme disease, but there was nothing specific which pointed directly to that. If I'd have known what the bullseye was there's a chance they'd have figured it out in that case, but who knows.

All I knew yesterday when I walked into that same urgent care center was that the cat bite was a big deal and had to be dealt with right. I was curious to see what they'd come up with.

Thankfully I didn't have to find out because Plasticos immediately sent me his number and when I called him he had everything set up and ready for me to get there at a VA in Rhode Island. It was such a relief for me to know that I was under the care of people who know exactly what's wrong with me and exactly how to treat it, and I am so grateful. This could have been bad.

I was really nervous yesterday, and I live alone. I'm very selective about who I keep in touch with and kind of keep a low profile. I have tons and tons of friends and family who many times tell me they wish I'd keep in touch, but I usually don't. I've grown accustomed to that, but yesterday before I heard from Plasticos I was feeling really nervous and alone. It's such peace of mind knowing someone on the other end, it means a lot. The people at this VA as well as Plasticos' cronies were all outstanding, such nice and courteous professional people. Lots of sa-mokeshow nurses as well. I appreciate all of them, and especially you Plasticos. Also, you're younger than I'd pictured, lol!

Yeah so basically they knumbed the finger then attacked with a knife and some stuff to clean it. I'm on antibiotics for a little while now but I'll be OK. I hope the cat gets straightened out as well...

Got stopped by a couple browsers, today-yesterday actually.

When I got turned around, I sat down with my back to them and they couldn’t resist a close up.
