Are you tearing up the mounts or the frame towers?

I had a new set of L&L mounts that are nothing more than a rubber block bonded between two pieces of steel. Mine are already deformed and cracking and will likely fail under my 600hp target

I was actually intending on changing them out with these units.....

Why don/'t you just use a chain or torque arm to prevent the mounts from delaminating?

    Valid point.

I also considered making my own like the ones in the link but either way, it should probably be chained

Yeah, guys have been using chains nearly since advent of the automobile, and I have used a few myself and never tore anything up by using them. The fancy new torque arms are nearly the same thing with the exception that some add additional damping to "soften" the transition from motor mount stretch to rigid chain, but you could easily add some rubber insulators to a chain setup. In fact, some cars came with a torque arm and I think my Maserati had one. I wouldn't be surprised if the new Dodge Hellcat has one as well.

The engine mounts made from hard urethane will also increase vibration in the chassis over stock type mounts, I guarantee it. In some cases they increase vibration by just a small amount, and in other cases, it is a very noticeable increase and I have experienced this first hand countless times because many people that came into our shop wanted the urethane ones installed.

You can also simply drill right thru the center of some mounts and install a grade 8 bolt with a grade 8 flat washer on each side and some type of lock nut or double nut it, then tighten it so there is around 1/4" of free play.

A 3/8" diameter grade 8 bolt is more than sufficient in the majority of cases.

Glamy, come up to mass I’ll put you to work on one of these ladders. Frikkin oak trees-it’s breezy damn acorns keep hitting me. I’m replacing 80% of rotten wood trim boards with pvc and yes there’s bee’s (yellow jackets) too. Nice southboro neighborhood. I bid high hoping they’d use someone else, (didn’t work) this up/down ladders all day is not fun. I’ll be couching it by 4 .

Hey it doesn’t hurt to look.... problem is it’s hard to distinguish younger woman from legal ones nowadays. Must be something in the water they’ve all got boobies- hope that it doesnt make me sound like a creeper.... but you guys know what I’m talking about, I think.
What I wanna know is why as soon as I got married they all seem to actually look back as if I had a chance.

Used to hate tire changes. I do it rarely and only on off-street vehicles but I also hate schlepping tires and rims to local guy and wasting his time to put on tractor tires etc.

The scrapyard harbor freight holder made it marginally better but my old tire spoons range from frustrating to lethal.

After breaking one putting in a tube, I sprung for a ken-tool tire iron. What took 20 min and a lot of cussing took 1 minute

    Amazing

I make my living doing the tire work no one else wants. Trailers mowers and the working man's junk car. LOL!
