Watching the protest going on in DC.

I thought my wife was kidding when she said Trump supporters stormed the capital. A quick search in the news and wow....she was right. An unarmed girl from San Diego was shot and killed by police as she was trying to get into the capital. I thought 2020 was behind us and 2021 was going to be roses.

I'm not so certain they "stormed the capital (sic)."

Police 1 People 0 Edit:numbers on both sides have changed now. :_(

AFAIK. That poor woman's bad idea cost her. I hope she didn't leave children behind. A person charging at police or breaking into a building doesn't have to be visually armed to be an immediate threat.

No doubt a lot of us were hoping 2020 was behind us. It's not over yet, Biden still has to keep Kamala from pegging him.

I hiked over a mountain to buy some beer, and hiked back. About a five mile trip.

I collect growlers. Unbelievable I haven't added these to my collection until now.

Yeah but those bad po-po would have done far worse if those were BLM peaceful protestors. You remember? The peaceful ones..... not the ones setting fire to police stations, breaking windows of businesses, and taking over city blocks.

Now there are senators calling for some of the Republicans' heads that had been siding with Trump up until the capitol was stormed. Where were their cries for civility when cities were getting trashed? Oh, those weren't the peaceful ones though. They want to carve out the good and bad in their cause.
I guess you could do the same with what happened yesterday? If you stormed the capitol, you gonna get shot. If you stayed outside and didn't force your way past barriers? Oh no, they were rioters too.

Damn hypocrites....if it's my cause, it's a protest regardless of the bad apples in the bunch.
If it's your cause..... lawless rioters.

Not wanting to drag anything down to the basement or up from it; my last statement on rioting in the US.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._United_States

I'm sure without even looking at the list, some people here remember a certain incident that involved the national guard killing four students on a college campus.

It's all throughout US history, and it keeps repeating itself. Stay safe out there in 2021.

Perfectly true......protesting in the USA is nothing new and even patriotic.

The narrative of that young woman's death in the capital got to me.....how she was rioting and the media almost reports like she deserved one in the chest. Yet when some black person gets shot the media reports it like evil racist kkk cop kills for sport another college bound loving unarmed black child coming home from church.

    I dislike the media

They justify her killing because they didn't agree with the mob's right to assemble and because if she were black (I'm sorry.....Black) whitey would have shot 10 of her. Or "you" have done far worse to "us"
    Bunch of rhetoric.

The beer was good. I got two different types, but don't remember which ones. I've been there several times before, but never got a growler. It's just a unique kind of place and that particular bathhouse had been unoccupied long before they renovated it into a brewery.

The hiking trails are nice and the weather was cool, so it wasn't too bad. There's about 26 miles of trail in total, and I've hiked all of them, just not on that day. Sunset trail is the longest and goes around the entire National Park and has some great views. It can be done in sections because there are several road crossings that have parking available. They do have organized trail runs, for anyone who participates in those. Hot Springs is a really unique place and there's quite a bit to do if a person likes outdoor actives along with a little night life.

If you've never had the hankering to get drunk on malt liquor while deciphering pictograms, you haven't lived.

Modified my ATV tub trailer into a red neck zamboni to maintain the lake rink. It turned out pretty good I think, just need to modify the seal on the plywood and add a filler hole. We used approx 600 gallons of 104 degree water from my neighbors hot tub to help melt the snow crystals. We did it early in the morning with temps around 6F and it took just over 2 hours to do the whole surface. As a nice surprise a local pub got wind of the rink we maintain and gave each family a munchie platter as thanks from the community.

"what are you doing today?' Today I am searching. looking for a place to be. Not fake book. I haven't been here in years and am happy this place still is here. I used to be a mod on another trike site which is dead. Perhaps I need to get back to some roots. Hello to those still here as I have no idea how active this place is.
