I also think what made Mike so great was that he was a heavyweight, he was putting guys down that were huge. That tells you what kind of KO power he had. The Great boxers today are not heavyweights they are middle on down, not saying they are not great at there craft or that they dont have the KO power only saying that fighting within their weight class they dont have the same fluctuation of poundage that the heavy weights have.
Imagine the damage he did when he boxed the clown...........

Rainy day here so i'm just practicing with some platnum clear silicone, pricey but very easy to work with but takes 15hrs to dry "each side". Inside plastic takes about an hour. My kids are into transformers and loose these keys all the time. He asked if he could make some "sure" as long as he was involved in the process. He was pissed when his first came out pink!!!

[QUOTE=DAM shop;1466801]Hey Shep,
Pretty cool stuff there, is that something you can make a large mild with?
I'm going to try, you really need the basic shape so you dont use much of it, it would get very costly for every mistake though so you have to take it slow.
Pd a little over $100 for a gallon and have another on its way, but its still cheaper than buying parts on ebay these days.
I have spent allot of time doing tests to see what reacts chemically well if not you end up with a pile of goo.
Yup its just another expensive hobby.
I'll see if i have a pic, found one im not home
Here is my first trial, its come along alot further than this pic, i'll just say i have MANY hours at this point a couple wks ago.

[QUOTE=Shep1970;1466805] Shep, do you have a link to a site where a guy could investigate how to get started in this little hobby? It would be nice to do a little reading up as opposed to just starting to try to throw molds together. I have some stuff that these skills could come in handy for.

[QUOTE=Scootertrash;1466812] Yup, well i have to recommend to read all of swineharts posts about this/ thats really what got me hooked. There's tons of info just on this site. I think i have read every post about this subject on 3ww (theres lots)
Theres many utube videos as well but theres some not so good one's also.
The companies that sell supplies have actual catalogs to read through, i'll post a pic of the one's i have in a few mins.
I haven't had very costly mistakes yet but have come close a few times(try small batches first) and lots of notes.
I have ordered from both of these companies(pic)and another called BJB enterprizes there all good people to work with.
You can go down to your nearest craft store, they won't have much to offer but should have some materials to play around with.
Oh you also need a good gram scale, can find them pretty cheap.

I read a lot of swineheart's posts back when he was making the 350X headlight shells, at least I think that was him. That's what piqued my interest.
What's the proper term for making these molds, and the name of the material you use for the parts? I'm drawing a blank....
