Oh, that... i put a thin layer of grease around the axle nuts and splines then just wrap it with electrical tape. Its just a thing i do/ keeps it all nice in there. I figure these axles are a dying breed so whatever i can do to help w/corrosion i guess.
Long story short is it keeps the water out, just a habit i guess.

Must be others out there that do the same??? Maybe???

Interesting idea. Does the tape become impossible to remove when it’s time to service the axle?

Nope not hard to remove at all. It lasts about 5months the tape dries up and probably would fall off on its own in 6months- Been doing it for a long while, whenever i remove an axle it all comes apart nicely and just as clean as it went together. I always wanted to try like a 2” heat shrink tubing but elec tape is always nearby.
(Just have to make sure your not trapping moisture in there) i tend to overthink things, this maybe over doing it but hey it works for me

Yup. I did. They did not last long. 4 hours and I don't use my rear brake much. I have a set of Moose Racing qualifer pads which are thinner(?) and a set of EBC pads.

Crappy way to find'em scooter. I'm surprised there was enough weight to it's way through a "Bearclaw", aren't they around 6 ply?

I was enticed by scooters pictures to have a look around here. Low and behold I found one right away.

With a couple hours to spare, I went up the road to find an elk shed.

    Lots of game trails

Elk herds have come down from the mountains.
Little white bunny would only let me get so close.
Three deer stands and a spot I found a somewhat fresh deer kill, something had been feeding on. Made my hair stand up...love that!!

Scooter-I didn't realize that antler was stuck. Really, but did notice your plug cap.

I pulled the antler out of the tire in the woods because it was beating the sh!t out of the fender and drove home, put the antler back in the hole and took a pic since I didn't have my phone with me on the ride, then I finished putting in a fresh spark plug, pulled the wheel, took the tire off of the rim and patched, not plugged, the hole. It's also rather obvious from the pic that I wasn't in the woods when the pic was taken.

If you look even closer at the pic you can see the tire tracks end where I stopped rolling the wheeler backwards to find the hole.

Yes coolpool the bearclaw is a 6 ply tire, my neighbor and I were both surprised that the antler punctured the tire, I guess a sharp point is a sharp point, as opposed to a blunt end stick.

Why would you go through all the trouble of removing your wheel, removing your tire, and and patching, not plugging, your tire?

Why would I not take the time to fix it properly?

Funny I just jumped on. I mean there's nothing wrong with that at all, but I just jam a tire plug in there and that's that. 20 seconds and it's over with.
