Out with the big red before the next nor’easter.
I’m not sure if there is anything more fun, atv wise than an atc in 3-4” of snow, it just floats. Traction to move and all the sliding, leaning, fishtails and drifting one could want.

Perhaps an atc in 3-4' of snow with one of these on it with you?

It is much easier to get pinch flats with the new soft sidewall tires, but I haven't had one yet, but I'm not going nearly as fast as a current top pro, which makes me wonder if some of them may be using this system. I do know that many of the current Supercross top pros run special Dunlop's that are designed to last for just one race and are not available to the public, and they may be soft sidewall tires as well and may benefit from this system but I think it would alter, and probably reduce the performance of the newer soft sidewall tires. One problem with the Tubliss system is that you can still get flats if something like a cactus needle etc punctures it, so if I ran it, I would still take spare traditional tubes with me just in case.

    .
I’m not going to run an ad for Tubliss, but I will say that once you try a bike with them installed you will never want to run a tube again. They add a lightness and feel to the steering and suspension that can’t be exaggerated.

As far as flats go, we just carry a plug kit and a small bicycle sized can of tire sealer. No tubes needed and best of all you can ride on a flat all day with the Tubliss as the inner tube locks the tire on the rim, so it feels like about 3psi when it’s flat. Not so nice in the rocks, but 60 mph on the road with a flat feels almost like you don’t have a flat.

If someone you know has them and will let to take a lap don’t pass it up.

What are you doing today? Thread

My back is OK! Friday when it happened, I was reduced to laying flat on my stomach. I couldn't even lift my torso, I think I had said that. Three hours later I was crawling and before midnight I was walking around the house in super slo-mo. I never stopped moving after it happened, and the more I moved the further I was able to and the better I felt. Last night I was able to walk very slowly with a heavy limp and still had to be very careful how I moved. Today I drove to Lowe's and got a new microwave (no box, on clearance, marked down from $230 to $150, minus ten percent off that for veteran discount!) and when I got back I was on the phone with the great Mik6. I was rolling around on the floor and my back cracked right where it was out. All better! It's still slightly sore but I could run the snowthrower right now. Should be 100% tomorrow!

For me the best choice was to be proactive and not give it a chance to lock up! I can't tell you how to deal with your back, but I bet a huge percentage of people in my position would have laid down immediately and for a very long time, possibly days. That's not to say every back issue can be solved as easily by everyone! In my case every little bit of progress was a small victory to me and I stayed up all night working on it. I'm just glad to have it behind me! (Ba-dum-tsss!)

No fun fabio, Injured my back several times and I’ve been in the same situation. My wife had her first back strain maybe six months ago. She is never injured, she was like “what is this hell???” Glad u are on the mend, careful shoveling today!
I timed my day off right (or wrong)
Bit much for the 3 wheelers but fun for the Argo. The new (utv) Jeep also had a workout. (Yes I know it is March and the Xmas lights are still up!)

I have a herniated disc that is also ruptured so I can relate. Happened around 1987 when I tried to remove a refrigerator from my truck by myself even though there was a big burly guy standing in the driveway right next door at the time that could have helped me if I had asked.

I noticed today that the vintage club I race with recently posted photos of the National I raced at last week and they had a few of me on there.
This is from the first race of the day which I was in and it was only 250's. I'm doing my best Bob Hannah impersonation but I it was weak cuz I still had one foot on the pegs. I was in second place at this point and fortunately had a decent lead over everyone behind me and was even pulling away from them, and I was only riding at 90%, so luckily, I didn't wear myself out, cuz I had 3 more motos to go after this with the next moto being the open class.

This photo was taken the second the gate dropped for the first moto for the open class race, which is any size bike up to 1996, but 99% of them are big bores which are nearly impossible to even keep in sight on this track.

This photo was around taken around 3 seconds later, and my poor little 250 is already getting spanked by the big bore bikes, and several of them also spanked me throughout the entire race, so I got a little bummed out at first and figured I would never be able to keep up with them on my 250, HOWEVER, after a while, I started to get pissed off, and then I got more pissed off, so when the gate dropped for the second open class race, it was a different story. I got a much better start and only got passed by 1 guy, whom I temporarily immediately passed back on the inside, and when I did that he got pissed off and yelled "Hey", as if I wasn't supposed to pass him back cuz he's so fast, so I politely yelled "f you" at him (cuz remember, I am a kind and courteous racer) and he then proceeded to pass me right back on the next straight and started pulling away.

I just kept on poundin and poundin away, and by the last 2 laps of the race, I caught back up to him (he was in 3rd place) and to 2nd place, and tried to make a super tight inside pass on him just 20 feet before the finish line, and I got my front wheel next to him in the turn but I didn't have enough hp to pull past him going up the finish line jump, but I didn't care, at least I know I would have definitely soon passed both of them if the race had gone for another lap or two, so I was quite happy with that race as well.

Anyway, even though I consistently rode like crap in a few turns (because they had deep ruts and I do not ride deep ruts), and until the last race I was only going at about 90%, it was a very good day, cuz I know I can easily take at least 1 second off my lap times at that track with that layout if I want to. They are using the same track this weekend but are changing the layout, so I will see what happens Sunday, however, I certainly don't expect to do as well as I did at the last race but I will soon see, but as long as I don't get "damaged" while riding, I will always consider it to be a good at the races.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), I won't have my big bore Grim Reaper (YZ465) ready for this weekend's race, which means that the chances that I will still be alive and able to walk under my own power by Sunday afternoon is very high. I installed a 1 tooth larger rear sprocket and brand spankin new rear tire on my 250 today, so that will definitely help me a little against those pesky big bore trench diggers.

    What year was your Husky?

I'm pretty sure the one in the race is a 1979 CR390.

I'm no speed demon by any means these days, and I have serious reservations about racing this 465 (which is now a 476). I only started riding again because it's hard for me to exercise and I was gettin a little lathargic, so I figured riding would be good exercise but it wouldn't seem like exercise cuz it is fun.

If the 465 has more power than I want to deal with I can just sell it and fix up my 1978 YZ400. A 78 YZ400 was the last bike I raced in the Pro class and it worked pretty well, so I already know how to setup the engine and suspension on that one, however, it is also the bike I broke both bones in my leg on when I crashed in a deep rut (which is why I now refuse to ride in deep ruts), when I was practicing at Saddleback for a big upcoming race, and that ended my Pro motocross racing days.

I started racing again just over a year later but I found that I didn't have the desire to try and work back up to being as fast as I previously was, so I soon quit dirt riding altogether until I got a job at Kawi in 1983, and then after around 6 weeks, they decided to separate R & D into 2 different departments, one which was for motorcycles and the other was for ATV's and new concepts, and I had only ridden a 3 wheeler for maybe a couple hours total in my entire life, lol, and not long after that I was racing....yup....I worked it in here....The TECATE...The Most Powerful 3 Wheeler In The Universe!

    OMG....not his TECATE slogan again!

    Think it was 83?

It routinely tried to kill me.

The guy I sold it to, early 50’s took it for a run. Came back a bit scared.
I warned him. My wife didn’t think he was gonna do the trade.
No place on my property to ride something like that
    Rokon is a better fit.
