Just sold the 250r.
Just sold the 250r.
It sucks to get old
Today I will copy the pattern of the Honda ATV bigred 200 pull start housing. I will than make an aluminum 1/8" block off pull start plate since buying a $250 used pull start is a bad investment to. Plasma cutter and drill press....Another man up project. It didn't not scan well into 3D file for me to convert.
I like shiny parts/cleaning them not so much but....the stock shock on my grom is more or less a pogo stick- no spring adjustment or dampening and have bottomed it out a half dozen times. Found a replacement with decent reviews- installed and went for a ride, so much better now. (Not from china) japan actually so i shall see how it holds up. Another new set of tires as well. Sleeting/a bit of snow later tonight...... where the hell is spring.

Yea those sound like the real old ones.
I'm not a part of it...but there's this whole community out there for old Coleman stuff...lanterns, coolers, etc....stuff like that. I learned how to rebuild these things from YouTube videos. These guys know their stuff. Different models, colors, years....what's worth $20 and what's worth $1000.
Right now I'm dealing with an old Coleman heater that's not working right...and unlike the lanterns there's not much stuff out there for repairing them. At least that I know of.
Honda 200 bigred pull start block off plates ready for manufacturing. Already had E start and who like pulling due north...not me with a torn disk. Also added 200x engine plug to remove and quickly time vs wasting a gasket each time. Order material for my test piece. It's funny what people can do if they stop using their smart phone and start using my smart brain....And I am know Einstein either.
Something has wiped out a few of our critters recently.
Someone spotted a bobcat near here a little bit back and we've typically had them in past, but I don't think one has ever attacked our animals.
Skunks, possums, raccoons, are the typical suspects when a chicken goes missing, but we had a cat killed. I know the cats don't like the raccoons too much, but they've never gone at it, that I've seen anyway. That pretty much rules out the skunks and possums too.
I considered it may be a large hawk, as they're around here quite a bit. I'm not too certain one could have killed the cat though, and the cat wasn't eaten on, just killed.
Neighborhood dogs come through all the time, but we haven't had a chicken issue with any of them in decades. There's no cat/dog rivalry going on either, no cat eating dogs I know of around here.
That leaves one furry critter I've dealt with before and I got it on camera this time. Broad daylight, 10-20 seconds and it was all over, a pile of feathers in the grass. I was loaned a live trap yesterday. I'll see if it can outfox that.
Liberalism suspends the intellect of its victims, while at the same time tricking them into believing that they're smarter than everyone else.
If we've done business together, please leave me feedback. Thank You!:

I agree.
That was towards the end of the time when manufacturers kept the kicker for "just in case" scenarios.
As a kid at the time, I remember reading a motorcycle mag that made an argument for why not get rid of the kickstart altogether? Just in case starter didn't work? How many cars had a crank in the front just in case the starter failed?
I got a little motorcycle riding and camping in last weekend.
This weekend I'm just going to stay near home and watch traffic. They say it's the most popular thing to watch this week, but I'm not seeing it yet.
All of y'all in the path of total destruction, be safe out there.

Look nice?
A friend was replacing an engine and bought a used one. Nothing against who he bought it from, it was a best guess that it ran and was OK because it came from a crashed vehicle that turned over. Running when parked.
The guy he had helping him with the change quit on him, dissembled way more than necessary, and didn't organize the removed parts very well (we don't know where all the bolts are). I went by to help him out and done a better inspection of the engine before it went in. Change of plans, but I don't know what that plan is and I'm limiting my involvement.
Oh, and it's a Ford 4.0 SOHC. If there's any ticking from the timing chains, the engine has to come out. There's at least three timing chains, four depending on if it's a balance shaft engine. One of those is on the back of the engine and the guide pivot is blocked by the transmission. It's not a job that should be done twice, put a good engine in one time and not have to pull it back out for a while.

Ya me again....So santa clause dropped off some Michelin (sp) power pures tires for the wifes Grom I mounted one rear yesterday, the front from what ive read and sidewall arrow says to mount backwards (v grooves opposite the rear tire).
That seems assbackwards to me, wouldnt you still want the rain/wet roads to be pushed away if that makes sense like the rear?
I figure theres a couple motorcycle guys on here that would know why maybe? google/youtube/michelin says backwards is correct but my mind tells me different.
So i'll most likely have the new front mounted this am but its just odd in my mind. Of course it just started to rain....grrrr mount and dismount on my tailgate outside.

Mount it the way the arrow shows. I can’t name a specific tire at the moment, but I’ve been in your dilemma before. Trust them, they do this for a living.
