Took the latest thing to upset my wife for an on/off road ride today.

Went to a friends trapping cabin about 2 hours away over the weekend to help install flooring and do a few other jobs as they get ready to move in. It's completely off grid with 22km's of bad road (when wet) followed by 6 miles of shoreline (summer) or ice (fall, winter, spring) to cross. I made the mistake of trying to ride my ATV across the lake but due to deep snow I had to get towed by a sled in a few spots when I fell off the old sled tracks. The original cabin is ~47 years old and needs to be retired now. Weather was chilly but overall it was nice with daily dustings of fresh snow. If you ever wondered about the size difference between a coyote and timber wolf, the picture makes it quite clear, lol. That was taken during last years season in November.

I bent a rear wheel on my 185S a while back and just got around to replacing it and using that as an excuse to upgrade to aluminum and 4/110 spacing.

The EX hubs add about an inch of spacing on each side as do the wheels, so about four inches wider than stock. I didn't necessarily want it much wider than stock, that's just how the more modern part standard is set up.

The hubs are heavier than stock but the wheels are lighter. In all, it's about three pounds and $250 lighter on the axle than stock. Those fancy aluminum hubs are too precious, but I sure tried to talk myself into a pair (and failed).

At some point, I'd like to get most of my trikes fitted with 4/110 hubs and wheels so I can swap them around, and wheel selection is better. New wheels aren't much more expensive than used ones. The prices for used OEM ones on Ebay is a bit stupid.

I took the YTM200 for a spin.

Found a Big Gun muffler and was thinking about what I could use it for but I found out how to get it back to the owner who lost it. A shame the garden tiller won't be sporting it now.

We were blessed with great weather Fri-Sun with it finally getting up to 0C (32F) so we took full advantage of it doing some outdoor activities. Friday we trekked in from the highway ~1/2 mile to our campsite to feed birds and look at how everything wintered.....all looked in order. Saturday we snowshoed into my hunting area to retrieve my trail cameras. There were a few doe and coyote pictures but nothing worth sharing really. Our little dog sure struggled if it tried going outside of the snowshoe tracks, lol. Sunday it was an ice fishing adventure for a few hours in which unfortunately we came home skunked. Caught our limit of .08 though ;-) And to add to the awesomeness of the weekend, we can finally see grass in a few spots on the yard paths...that's exciting for a couple of Canadian frost backs.

That's the plan for the trikes I ride the hardest. Being able to have knobbies, snow tires (guess may double for sand), and mud tires already mounted that fit any of the trikes will make them a lot more versatile.

Felt ok today (nice to have a good day) so tackled a project.

I have had this jd weigh box for as long as I have owned the tractor. Since I swap the backhoe with flail, it never gets used. Back when I got it (10++) years ago, I used 111 concrete blocks as weight. Somewhere around 600lbs. I did this as I wasn’t sure of my future plans with box and didn’t want to do something that couldn’t be reversed.

Today it was reversed. Plan is to make a “carry all” box for hand tools, chainsaw fuel, brush cutter etc. will use the jeep plow hitch to lift and leave it so 3point attachment can still be used. I generally use forks on rear of jeep or grapple so this will compliment nicely.

Not today. Couple days ago. 15 miles outside of Winnipeg this guy pulls into the passing lane. No studs, street tires. Running about 70 mph. 40 mph cross wind. Thought I was going to run him over a couple times. Bigger balls on a bike than a Mexican. Piece of crap site won’t let me add photos. Can you add it Nico?
