82 xt550 growing an extra wheel!

OK I'll try to lay it out quick and dirty. This is basically what my 82 yamaha xt550 looked like when I got it

This is what it looked like after I got sick of the stupid vacuum carb system

This is what it looked like when I got sick of the notably crappy suspension and brakes

This is where I'm going with it now because I want another wheel
Atc 500x for the win! (Hopefully.... one day)

Now some explanation, with some redneck ingenuity I managed to put a 2003 yz450 suspension under my machine. Rides and stops like a dream! But that doesn't fix my inability to ride things with other than 3 wheels haha..... so I saw Richards conversions for yz's and thought to myself, as far as the suspension is concerned, I have a yz! So I bought a yfz 450 swing arm and made it fit. I'm working on the front now

My plan is to try to use a yfz front hub

It will give me plenty of room to center the wheel, it'll require no lathe work for the hub, (just for the axle) and best of all 10 inch front wheel!

So here's the trick. I don't want to permanently turn this into a trike. I'd like to still have the option of taking this machine single tracking. So everything I do has to be bolt on haha..... we'll see if I can make that happen

    To do list:
•Make front axle (lathe at work is broken..... soooo.... that'll be a while)
    •make front caliper bracket
•covert current frame to a removable sub frame and make a new additional sub frame. With flip seat for the bike kicker
    •make new foot pegs
•probably about 300 other little things I'll find along the way!

Well your 500x turned out pretty good. I'll bet that this one will too.
