    Honda ATC185 Flywheel

I have no spark on my 185 and have checked everything and changed almost all of the ignition components out of frustration. I am beginning to suspect that the flywheel may have lost some of its magnetism. Is there any way to check this.

I have been told to use a 12volt test light and that it should light up if connected between the hot lead from the exciter coil and ground. Has anyone had any experience with this test. If so does the light shine brightly or is is only a glow. I have used a DVA meter and on open circuit I am getting around 100 v at the exciter coil output but I don't know if its putting out enough power.

Have you checked your spark advancer if it is broken in some way it can cause electrical problems that will pass the ohm test but you still have no spark
