ATC110 LIFAN Engine Swap
I found an ad today with a 1983 ATC110 with one of the Chinese Lifan engines installed. Can anyone chime in on what mods or brackets need to be made to get this swap to work? I have a 1985 ATC125M that had the bottom end of the engine fail after I had the top end refreshed so this seems like an economical way to get her going again.

You should keep your atc original. Contact Shortline10 hes in your area & works on these machines.
What exactly happened to your bottom end? Im not sure about those engines but some of the 70 guys use them.

I'm not 100% sure what the issue is with the bottom end is. It will not stay in gear and the chain pops off the sprocket when it does engage. I will reach out to shortline, I haven't been able to find anyone locally that will even attempt to work on it. Thanks for the info!

I can almost 100 percent tell you what the problem with the engine is you have a broken shift indent lever the 1st gent 125m's are notorious for this part failing here is the diagram http://www.partzilla.com/parts/searc...RUM/parts.html it is number 8 on the assembly http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detai...0-459-950.html. Our 85 when we took it apart had a lever that was almost broken and the remnants of an old one that had broken.
