Cool Picked up a 225DR tonight!

I've wanted a 225DR since I was 11 years old and first knew this black beauty existed. I had a YTM 200 hard tail when I was 11 which I still have today and always dreamt of having the black 225dr. I used to draw it on my school notebooks lol. It took 22 years to find but I finally got one. It needs a few things, but I'll have it up to snuff in no time. Runs great and everything works, absolutely everything.

The 250sx and the 225dr are my new trail riders. I just finished up the SX with the help of about $800 in eBay parts. Damn eBay! Yea I have more into it than I could sell it for, good thing I'm not selling it The 225dr needs far less than the SX did so I should have it tearing up the trails in no time. They make a good duo!

Nice score, I loved my old DR. That rack is an awesome addition and so are the aluminum wheels. I hope your wife didnt catch you rolling this beauty in!

Yea I definitely like the wheels too! It's even got the aluminum front wheel which I thought was cool. I told her I was helping a friend move a fridge lol so I'm in the clear so far. My family thinks I'm nuts with these lately, this is the 5th one I bought since January. So far this and the TPC are still a secret. She uncovered two and I was straight up with purchasing my Tri-z. I wish I didn't have to hide the TPC so I could actually ride it but she will know I spent a lot and there will be hell to pay. I probably can't bust that one out til next year. Probably only a matter of time before she finds this one but if I want them I just have to buy them and deal with her on it later.

Pics of your TPC? How can you hide that much money? Sounds like you're really working up a nice collection.

Im definately trying to get all the trikes on my "wanted list". I used to buy and sell them but now I'm just in it for "my keepers". Prices just seem to be going up and they are hard to find, so when I find one I want I figure I'll snatch it up now and then I can restore them over the years. All mine are riders right now minus 1 of my YTM 200's which has aftermarket rear suspension kit on it so I'm excited to build that into something cool.

I've been busted by the wife even as far as the bank account goes so I have to be a little crafty. I own a lawn and landscape company so it's frequently money in and money out in my accounts. When I bought the tpc I knew she would need an explanation for the money since she does my books, so I sold a machine I had for snow removal and replaced the money with selling that. I didn't really use it since getting into using tractors instead, it was a backup machine I didn't mind parting with. She doesn't know I sold that machine. I have a ton of stuff though, she can't keep track of everything. As long as I keep her away from my shop I'm good lol.

Haha.......I love it. Your not in the minority as I tell my wife as well.

I'm planning on buying my wife a new Harley Davidson Limited and maybe a fishing boat if funds permit

Me too. But in my case, I have to give her even more credit and say she is supportive of what makes me happy. We keep separate finances but share bills according to income levels. Outside of that, I don't ask about the thousands she spends on gardening and landscaping and she doesn't ask about my garage and firearms. We don't argue about $$ and I'm blessed to have her and she knows me better than anyone on this planet.

No offense to anyone, of course. Different situations beg different measures. I overheard my wife many years ago tell someone that the reason she puts up with my stubbornness is that she couldn't respect or be with any man who did as he was told all the time and that she found it attractive anyway. I suspect this is the case with other women too.

Even if Deonna wasn't cool, she can totally tell when I'm lying or keeping a secret so I'd be screwed even if I tried.

My wife is a penny pincher. She's never been a big spender like me. I buy other stuff like motorcycles and cars; plus constantly buying equipment. The less she knows the better. My spending stresses her out. She has said it herself. Just the way it's always been. The less she knows the better lol. We went to Bahamas and after 5 bucks spent in the casino we had to leave. Not that I'm a gambler but 5 bucks and she couldn't watch me put another dollar in the machine lol so consider yourselfs very lucky

My wife is very frugal as well. If you have a frugal wife you should consider yourself very lucky! There's a ying to every yang, the opposites even themselves out.

I agree! She has kept me from making real stupid purchases and also the reason I'm successful (according to her) probably true though lol
