    250R Lonestar "Taper Loc" Hubs on 350X?

    I am replacing my rear hubs on my 350X build and I see the OEM style hub available here;

    I also see Lonestar 250R hubs which I understand will fit since they're 25 spline (no experience with that personally but am using the "some guy said it would work" assumption);

    Most Lonestar hub listings give the typical "pics are for representation only and may not be actual product" and "OEM Dimensions."
    Is "taper loc" the tapered design of the hub and gives it extra width over the OEM design?
    Going with OEM style, I would probably add some spacers but by the time I do that I would be close to the cost of the Lonestar hubs, if they provide extra width.

    Every inch matters.......that's what she said!

    400ex / 350r hubs don't fit. In theory anything for a 250r atc should fit the 350x hub wise. Durablue shoes the same part number for both atcs and the 85 to 89 250r. All the 25 spline axles. Same hub. If lonestar can't help you check out durablue. They have a plus 1"!hub for about 200$ for a pair.

    check what axle is in your 350x. You can put a 250x/300ex axle it very easily. If you have a true 350x axle, 85-89 250r hubs will work. If you have a 250x/300ex axle, you need 400ex hubs. I believe 250r is 25 spline, wide spaced and 250x/300ex/400ex/450r is tight spaced 26.

    That might be the way to go. I found some of the Lonestars for about $190 but using these spacers and the OEM style hub, it would still be about $50-60 cheaper. Not sure if either option is "better" than the other.

    It's a stock 85' 350X axle that came on the bike so I have to go with the 25 spline. I also have a spare "almost NOS" 86' axle so no plans or need in swapping it all out as long as spacers are out there. Just wondering if the LS gave any more width over stock.

    Don't know about the lone stars. I know my billet 400ex hubs are lighter than OEM hubs with 2.5" polyurethane spacers. For whatever that's worth. As far as what's safer, I ran spacers for years. Never has an issue.
