Are you referring to the same Mickey Thompson races that Jimmy White won the Championship at on a....TECATE...The Most Powerful 3 Wheeler In The Universe!

I could be mistaken (or just color blind) but I'm pretty sure that is a Green TECATE in FRONT of everyone else at a Mickey Thompson race in Pomona.

Hey Barnett, this is probably a stupid question, but do you own (and like) the KX500?

And do you agree with me that it is the fastest off-road production machine EVER made, period?

About 50 lbs. of torque and 65 HP stock, weights about 220 lbs. (at least my 2002 did), and does about 102 MPH STOCK.

I had a 2002 KX500 with full pro circuit exhaust. Nothing like it

    So lets hear your thoughts
    1. It's all in good fun, but some people don't seem to have much of a sense of humor, which I actually find humorous. In my opinion (which is irrelevant), anyone that takes themselves too seriously about the amazing feats they achieved racing a motorized children's toy, needs therapy.

    2. I do not own a KX500, however, I have tested them in around 1985.

    3. It depends upon what you mean by the "fastest", but irregardless, not having ridden any of the competitors bikes of the same year or a 2002 like yours etc, I couldn't possibly say. What I can definitely say is that I was a pro motocross rider until around 1982 and had raced in the open class as well as the 125 and 250 class, and I even had the blazing fast FMF National bike they built for their open class rider which I got from them after he broke his shoulder, so I was used to pretty fast bikes, however, none of them were even remotely on the same scale as the Kawi 500 I tested, and in fact, it was really too much bike for me and felt like it was going to pull my arms out of their sockets, lol.

So are you implying that Jimmy White won that entire series, which included SEVERAL races, by simply hole shotting one race? Wow, if that's all it took then that certainly is impressive.

...and he seems to be having yet ANOTHER lucky day hole shotting and winning the Big Bear Grand Prix over factory honda riders, Dean Sundahl, Mike Coe and Marty Hart.

Oh, and even my box stock chassied slow as a snail TECATE (number 29) seemed to be in front of MANY other bikes going into the first turn as well, therefore, I was apparently having a "lucky" day as well.
