I got a message from JD yesterday and text with him tonight (he had to reach out to Shep to get my number). Things were so diffent just that short amount of years ago. I'm sure we could have chatted for hours.

Anyway, hopefully some of you can benefit from this old thread because there's some great information in here. We've lost Swinhart and someday I'll be gone too. These speedos and their parts are hard and expensive to find now. But, they can still be done. Especially if you aren't concerened about perfect accuracy. There are street bike drives you can modify, they use the same speeometer head and cable. Some people just like to see the needle move and don't care if it's off by a mere 4/5 MPH.
