I am wondering if the 8 inch wheels from a first generation ATC200x will fit on a TRX300ex? I know the bolt pattern is the same but being that the 300ex uses a 9 inch wheel I was not sure if the 8 inch 200x wheel will fit the rear 300ex hub.

I believe the bolt pattern is the same but I think the lug bolts on the TRX are larger diameter. When I bought my 1st gen 200X, the guy threw in an extra set of rear wheels with some old tires mounted. When I went switch out and use them instead of the originals I found that the bolt pattern was the same but the bolt holes were too large. I was told they were probably for a TRX or a 350X and if I wanted to use them I needed to switch out the hubs for a TRX.
All the same. Just make sure you have the correct lugnuts.
Herboso your holes were probably to large because the inserts had fell out. The OEM wheels have inserts in them to allow for tapered lug nuts. They fall out all the time. Then the holes are way to large.

Almost all Honda 4 on 110 bolt pattern use 10 mm nuts/studs. I can only speak about the '83 original 8 inch wheels, they have a smaller wheel center diameter, where the flat bolting face plate is welded to the wheel id. Your 300ex hubs OD maybe too large for the 200x wheels. They can be cut/machined down to fit. Back in the day when I got my first 350x wanted to use the 10 paddle tires off my 200x found this problem, Honda made the hubs larger when they went to 9 inch wheels.
