    Trade ES for ES...

Found a really nice 85 on CL the other night, didn’t have room for another so I passed it onto a buddy. Next thing I know he calls and says I got, but I don’t want it. It’s way too nice for me. Let’s trade. So I traded My not bad but not great titled 2 owner for his 1 owner titled all original machine. All the paperwork plus some id never seen before. Great shape. Not perfect, but close. Tank was shot from sitting for so long. Probably 30-40 pin holes in the top of the tank. Looks like someone started “fixing” it, I’ve swapped over the tank from my buddy’s and will buy him a plastic tank since he doesn’t care.

And here’s the one I traded, it does have the side covers, just needs new grommets. I’ll get him a new seat cover, carb and tube the rear tires.

You did very well on that deal - came out on top. Your new ES looks very complete and original. Great paperwork. I would try to find a mint condition ES gas tank. A little detailing and that ES would look showroom condition. Nice '86 350X in the background.

    Cheers, BK3

He knew what he trading, so that was certainly his choice. I’d love to find a mint tank, but my pockets are that deep, so I’ll send my better tank off to be restored, of course that won’t be cheap either, planning on sitting down this weekend with some cleaners and getting it all cleaned up.
Thanks on the 350x, she is a looker, all original minus front wheels, and the wesico I just installed, and of course the gaskets.
Don’t have a updated picture with the rear plastics on.
