250sx starting issue

hi guys. got an 85 250sx. i recently had the stator cover off for a shifting issue. got that fixed no the trike wont start with the starter. i took the starter off and it works. even with powerimg the starter direcrly it doesnt spin the egine fast enough. it started perfect before this.

I’d say it doesn’t have anything to do with the stator, considering direct power to the starter doesn’t start it. I think your starter is shot... parts break sometimes for what seems like no reason.

i put a trickle charge on and it barley started. the starter makes one hell of a whine now
