    4+2 style plug?

I’m building a 200e engine with a custom built harness using a 4+2 CDI. Would be nice to have a high performance option.

Yes the newer 2x4 setup! If you work with PS2Fixer you will get the correct plug and these will plug and play.

I gotta say it—— your fancy “new” cdi looks very familiar to the China knock-offs with a shiny new sticker. For about $7 dollars too which claim the same results.

Here’s some pics of a quick search of China cdi’s.....

I have a serious question Oscar. Did you return to the site to try and rip people off, or at least profit off the members of this forum acting like a middle man for something we could all buy ourselves for $7? Serious question, and just a question. With a rap like yours, we gotta be careful, y'know?

So you're opening these units up and altering them in some way? Machine by machine basis? You've got different boxes for different machines? Just have to be sure with you.

It’s not a china knockoff. Mine are different and are japanese and assembled in tiwain.
I spent a lot of time working on getting these right. Mappings were done. Testing and retesting was done.

First part if your question is you being an ass and will be ignored.
Now these are custom made and modified for my specs. Higher capacity capaciters, all digital design and specifically developed for each engine type.
I stand behind my products. On Facebook there have been a lot sold and with great success. Have there been a couple of quirks from a couple of machines. Always will happen but the masses are very happy. Out of 60 sold i have had 3 to replace or work with the buyers. Zero refunds needed to be sent so far. Typically issues usually arrise from stuff like grounding issues, stator is weak or signal pickup is interment.

The stock unit is analogue and can accept a part or weaker signal mine being digital require a normal signal with normal readings. So there are instances where a customer whom has a more worn machine may have a problem. I can help them troubleshoot or redund their costs with the unit returned in good working order.

Sounds good! When did you learn to open up CDI boxes and alter them? If you're doing what you say you are I say I'm glad someone has finally done it.

I am working with the Japanese designers whom build the racing ones for the road bikes there. They helped me design one and spec the cdi details the. We ran mapping points through test demo sim machines to get info on outcomes. When we felt comfortable with what was done they programmed a test unit and send it to me. I tested a machine and we did mods to it. Sent it back for reprogramming. They retuned with changed and we did final testing. Testing was done initially on 2 machines. 1 my 350MX in 3 different races under 3 different conditions. Other was a tweaked machine used for weekend fun and trails.
From there we continue the process for each engine we design them for.
I had options for parts and designs and worked with them produce the highest quality possible at the best price. I sell them $70 shipped in lower 48 states. That nets me a final $19.57 in my pocket for each unit after costs.
Then out of that my time for marketing, packaging and runing to ship is not included. So when someone mentions costs or devalues these efforts it only pushes to show why we cannot have nice things. I am doing this because I wanted something better for my racing 350X. Then others decided they wanted one too. So off i went designing more and investing in a process. Was not and is mit cheap. And the $ made dows not do justice as it is very little. I do it becasue i am a triker and want to help keep these old machines runing in top condition for many more years.

Do you have a 350x or 86/87 200x? I would be more than willing to send you a tester model.

I am also working on some for the following machines
    83-85 200x
    250es/sx

Jan will work on 86-89 250r (85 with adapter)

If your interested here is some if the detail I out into these.
    Easier starting? But how?
    Simple!
The pickup magnet in the flywheel registers about 28-32* of crank movement from start to stop ar the pickup area. 90% is advnaced and the final 10% is retarded from TDC. To aid in starting we fire the first spark off around 600 rpm (kicking outs rotation of crank equil to around 750 rpm). But then the very next spark is fired off at 750-800 rpm at a very advanced point. What this does is fires after tdc to aid in kicking and then continues the rotation movement by firing advanced upon next rotation. Then once it continues it then smooths the idle spark (what i call it) to run smoothly between 750-950 rpm.

This is just a sample of what was done to help. Oh the stock cdi has only 4 maps or “points”. Mine have 12-14. 350x uses 12 and 200x uses 14.

I have to be honest, that all sounds really good. You don't have to send me anything but I appreciate it! If you make one for the SX I'll probably buy one at some point just to have on standby. Thanks for doing this Oscar, assuming you really did do all of that. That's pretty impressive.
