    '84 200ES exhaust

Are there any options for a 200ES muffler out there besides the DG? That's all I can find and I have one on a 200E. It's too loud for this trike's intended purpose.

I have one factory muffler but it's screwed. It was cut on and welded but the previous owner and by me in an attempt to repair it. FAIL. It leaks bad.

Keep watching Ebay - two months ago - I picked up a solid - rust & dent free OEM '84 200es muffler for $36.00 for a '84 200es I was selling. Even came with a clean exhaust pipe and protector. I also have a NOS Honda 200es muffler - OEM - new in the box - but hanging on to that one for awhile.

    Good luck in your search.

If you have access to a welding machine and know how to use it, you can put anything you want on there. You could take measurements and find a different OEM muffler for a different application but about the same size, it doesn't even have to be from a Honda.

Good luck to you finding a good 200ES muffler. It's not impossible but there are really not that many out there anymore. ^^^That guy^^^ up there got really lucky finding those. If it were mine, I'd find the cheapest OEM muffler I could which was around the same size and weld a pipe and hangers on it so it fit right into the factory exhaust mounts.

Are there no aftermarket Stainless Steel Mufflers available in the US.
Here in South Africa there is an aftermarket maker of stainless free flow mufflers, they have long since stopped making for the 200ES however, but I was lucky enough too get of most my 200ES collection with them fitted already as well as a few parts bikes with them.
My problem is more the sealing between down pipe and muffler.

Well, there's more than one way to skin a cat and I used a meat cleaver.

My header and muffler were both in great shape. It was the junction what was screwed. SO......I bolted everything up tight and triple checked it was where it was supposed to be and spot welded it. It took some colorful swearing to get it off the trike but there's one and only way to snake it out. Got it off and welded that sucker solid. Ground it smooth and I'm about to wrap the entire thing in header wrap. This is a completely rebuilt engine, bored, new valves and closely inspected bottom end. A couple bearings didn't pass my inspection and got replaced. With any luck, none of this will be taken apart in my lifetime.

At least with someone else's lousy cobbling I had real steel to work with. My other 200ES needs a new exhaust and it's completely rotted out. THat's gonna be fun.

Not my best work but it AIN'T going nowhere nor shall she ever leak. LOL!

I had to use an exacto knife to open the wrap to get access to the screw holes. It didn't take much. I hope that doesn't come back and bite me in the azz.
