84 250r bad noise..kick starter maybe??(video)

Hey, just got a fresh top end from CT Racing, bored to a
330. Put all together and went to kick..and made this noise in the video. We thought it was a ring scratching or wrist pin clip came out, so we took it apart and saw 0 damage inside and no noise when apart and kicked ..put it all together and made the noise again when i kicked ... uncle said go ahead and start anyways so put the switch on run and started 1st kick. But it still makes this screech / squeak noise when I kick it, and also when I hit the kill switch.. anyone know what this is?? My uncle who is actually a mechanic thought over the phone it sounded like the kick starter so that's why we just went and started it.

Also when I got it started it idled super fast .. any ideas on that? Just carb work right? Sorry we aren't mechanical greats over here lol. Maybe any air leak ? Idk

Doesn't sound like the kicker to me, although I can't offer any better suggestions. You have to try and isolate the noise and determine where in the engine it's coming from. We have no way of telling that via video unfortunately. You might try having someone else kick it while you get close to the engine and listen. Hell break out the stethoscope if you have one.

Lol I know I tried to hold and kick sorry I'll try that next time I roll it out.. it definatly is louder on the right side, and once it fires up i dont hear it. Only when kick and also when i kill it... thank you tho I'll try my best on that. Maybe someone has heard this noise and may know just from that idk??

Yup hopefully someone will recognize it. Almost sounds like it could be a head sealing issue but again, tough to tell not being there.

I don’t hear any anything except you trying to kick it over and the spring ratcheting the kicker back. Need a better video
