Got word from the state today, school is “done” for the year. The only problem I have with that is my son is a senior and he gets no formal graduation which excuse my wording but that sucks for him. Actually I think, well I know my wife is more upset about it than he is.
The good news is the town co-op DPW job he had got suspended when school stopped (covid) a few wks ago. He’s been contacted by the (boss) recently and there skipping the state funded program and hiring him back full time (they don’t want to lose him) and are still offering college programs to him, yay.

Still healthy/ still don’t personally know anyone that’s sick. Our cat is doing good too/ Click image for larger version.

Yeah Shep schools done here in Iowa. This Dam thing has drug on long enough, finding myself starting to slide into a not so good relaxed mode. The only good thing is it’s giving my possible herniated disc time to heal.

I just read an article that says two cats tested positive for coronavirus in New York.

I think we all suspected that you can catch a lot of things from stray pussy, but coronavirus wasn’t one that I was aware of before.

So now I’m left to wonder who the heck tests cats for coronavirus?

I'm working from home. During weekends, I do some gardening in the back of our house.

I've discovered my secret caches of rubbing alcohol, not realizing I was hoarding the stuff well before all of this mess.

It has so many uses, that I keep multiple bottles on hand, always. Disinfectant, solvent/degreaser, accelerant, etc..

Found about four large bottles of the 91% stuff in the camper, new and still sealed. Found another smaller bottle under a sink, new. Still a couple other bottles hiding behind some stuff on the shop work bench. Of course I had a couple in the house already. I keep a couple of the travel size spritz bottles full for general disinfecting and have been doing that for years.

I don't like using products like Lysol, because they are supposed to be rinsed off with water or it leaves a film that allows bacteria to become resistant to it. Alcohol evaporates and kills things desiccation or denaturation. It's probably the oldest known chemical disinfectant, and thousands of years older than the invention of bleach.

I typically carry a flask of it when camping, for disinfecting and helping to start a fire. We used to make toilet paper camp stoves, which wasn't anything more than a coffee can with a roll of toilet paper completely drenched in alcohol. Was doing that well before being old enough for a drivers license. Guess that'd be a luxury right now.

I did buy a bottle of Everclear after this all started, just because I felt like there was an excuse and I haven't bought any in probably 15 years. Soon I realized why I haven't bought any in so long, because it's difficult to make mixed drinks with it that don't taste like garbage, except for punch. It's been in the pantry for a month now and probably will be even longer, with just the neck out of it.

Dang - there's 88 cents of tax on a gallon of gas here in PA. We are still over $2 gallon here. I sure do love paying taxes!

The .99 was a sale at one shell station guy sold like 10,000 gallons and has a line of cars. Even at that anywhere else it’s under a 1.20 the guy at shell os actually pretty’s smart moving serious volume of fuel that he wouldn’t even come close to moving if he was competitive with pricing

Ha, that's what it's like trying to get rid of our crude oil now! Me and Smjp22 work in the heavy oil industry and thank our lucky stars for every paycheck that still comes in. In fact he's about to start up a new 10,000 bbl plant which to me, doesn't make sense? Our company (Husky) thinks this is just a blip and is still moving forward. Sure hope they're right!
