I can get seeds at TSC, they aren't banned, TSC doesn't have a gardening section.
Ok, I'll concede that there was sensationalism in that headline, now that I know the rest of the story...... However, that's the most ridiculously convoluted reasoning I have ever heard for something being banned for sale (regarding the "no specific garden section" at TSC)
Kinda like banning the treatment drug because "ONE TIME, someone took something similar but not the same, and they died"
No, these decisions are largely arbitrary and are being enacted by the low-hanging fruit crowd
So TSC can sell seeds but not Home Depot? Yeah that sounds well thought out and completely fair, Constitutional, and not arbitrary at all. (Dripping with sarcasm right now)
This is why you don't elect people (who have paid gardeners and servants and cooks) to decide for you what is "essential" to you. This woman has probably not seen the inside of a low-end retail store for twenty years but, from her crystal palace, she decides (completely from her own ignorance and limited exposure to real life) what stores are allowed to sell what products based on how they are categorized in the store layout? Are you serious? (I'll bet you're not buying into it either) It's like the same people who wrote gun laws for Democrats wrote the shutdown orders for Democrats.
I can't throw rocks because we elected the son of the guy who ruined the teachers/police pension fund. Nevermind that Steve Beshear got everyone to blame the Republican Bevin (who came along after Beshear left office) for the pension issue, and magically, both Democrats and Republicans both completely forgot Steve Beshear's role in the fiasco and elected his son Andy Beshear out of spite to Matt Bevin. Kinda like expecting anything different from a Clinton or a Bush
Beshear is ignoring the crowded mosques in town and sending police after the Christian churches. Catholic churches here gave up without a whimper. Perhaps Christians should list their churches as mosques? Or maybe they should have church at TSC?
It reminds me of the ridiculous vaccination fight:
"Every child should be vaccinated. I don't want my children going to school with unvaccinated children!"
"If your child is already vaccinated, they are supposedly safe, so what do you care?"
"Because my child can get sick from unvaccinated children!!! I heard it on the news!!!"
"If your vaccinated child can get sick from an unvaccinated child, then your child's vaccination was useless and ineffective. You said vaccines are effective, so what the fvck?"
"Vaccines are 100% effective!! They save lives"
"Have you heard of 'viral shedding'? See that's why your vaccinated child can actually make an unvaccinated child sick. Turns out your vaccinated child is actually a much bigger danger to unvaccinated kids than the other way around. So now what?"
"I don't care. I'm listening to the medical professionals who are trained as news anchors and the representatives from vaccine manufacturers. They wouldn't twist it or outright lie to me for profit! Anti-vaxxers are ignorant fools!! Unvaccinated kids are a danger to others no matter how stupid I sound right now or how much I apparently don't understand vaccinations!!"
It's very easy to get people to throw out everything they ever learned in the presence of conflicting information "from authorities" on the matter...... Completely arbitrary authorities. Put an expert badge on someone and most people will blindly trust this person regardless of common sense
It's ego..... There was a study done that determined that it takes ten times more energy to get someone to realize the information they used to decide a position was all a lie to begin with and change their position, than it took to get them to believe that lie in the first place. That's why they say that you can't fix ignorance.... Most ignorance is totally willful.
We grow food. Even giving Whitmer the benefit of the doubt, this was a HUGE oversight on her part. With them telling us that we won't be safe until summer, where are people who grow and eat their own food going to get seeds from? So your governor doesn't understand that a food gardener goes to the store once or twice every few months but people go to the grocery sometimes every day here, especially now with the empty shelves and panic buying. So food gardeners will now HAVE to rely on an already shaky supply chain at the grocery because it's better to linger in a grocery store in large numbers than it is to linger at Home Depot in large numbers..... Yup, sound logic there. Makes perfect sense.

I especially liked how Komrade Beshear ordered every business closed for Easter, no Easter dinner, no parties allowed, no gathering at church, even if you stay in your car in the parking lot and listen to the sermon on huge speakers
But guess who WAS out and about operating a business on Easter Sunday?
The USPS, that's who
"But the USPS doesn't deliver on Sunday, chop!"
They don't deliver USPS Mail, silly. They were out delivering AMAZON packages to my neighbor. He needed a new weedeater to help him survive Coronavirus.... It's hiding in the tall grass apparently. Anything Jeff Bezos peddles is "essential" (huge political DONOR)
"Essential" my azz...... This whole thing favors certain businesses and punishes others. It's completely arbitrary and off the cuff. It makes no rhyme or reason whatsoever and NO, every state is NOT shutdown.

Yea, I defo don't agree with her bans, I personally feel it's unconstitutional. I heard on the radio (horrible source for info) that "motor boats" are banned now.
https://www.wzzm13.com/article/news/...7-d3a2969b4836
I really don't understand these bans. Her first stay at home announcement said to stay home, but then said to go outside and get fresh air, and even suggested going to the park. What's difference about getting on a boat, vs going to the park and eating a lunch.
I was going to plant a garden next year after I had a better garden spot setup (it's half done), but since things *could* go bad I figured I'd get a garden started this year. I figured there's a huge demand for seeds this year since I'm sure there's other people that were thinking along the same lines as what I was thinking, so I ordered online. I received the seeds like 2 days before the garden section ban. I talked with the seller a bit due to some shipping delay issues and she's also from Michigan and stated she's been so overwhelmed she has to put her ebay store into vacation mode to stop sales while she catches up. She was selling garden food seeds extremely fast, she said normally this time of year she had most sales in flower seeds. Since a lot of people are growing this year, I wonder if veggies and such will be cheaper at the end of the growing season.
I still need to figure out where I want to plant fruiting trees like mulberry, apple, pear, cherry, etc. I'll probably have to fence off an area to keep the deer from eating the small trees. I also have a pretty large patch of wild black berry and raspberries.
Small update for my area since I went shopping yesterday.
A month or so ago I went shopped before the hours were restricted at the big box stores. I went in about midnight (I prefer late night shopping, less people, and the general people in the city aren't the kindest). I think there was somewhere around 15-20 people in the store and I only noticed 2 people with face masks, I didn't have one at the time so I was part of that crowd. Nothing really seemed different except the mass panic buying of some thing and limits plated on high demand items. Fast forward to yesterday's shopping trip, traffic is down a lot. I looked up the best time to shop and it appears like first thing in the morning is the best time so I got there around 7:30am. Around 25 people in the store, around 60-70% had facemasks and I got a N95 from my dad so I was part of that group this time. Everyone looking 50+ had a face mask that I noticed, only young people didn't. Stock levels were much better, there was even toilet paper. I stocked up for another 1-2 months worth of food plus what I had left from the last trip and past stock. Should have around 3 months on hand now.
Also one of the local churches had a service for Easter, I guess the cops showed up for that to monitor the situation but it wasn't closed down. I guess people spread out enough to make them happy.
I've heard police aren't pulling people over for "small" crimes here currently. Don't know how true it is, but theft was mentioned as one of the things they'd be ignoring. Sure glad I have guns and plenty of ammo.

Lansing Police Chief Daryl Green in a March 12 “coronavirus exposure mitigation” memo said his officers, “until further notice,” won’t respond in person to reports of larceny; property destruction; retail fraud, if a suspect isn’t known or the value of the theft is under $1,000; attempted break-ins or break-ins at unoccupied buildings, including garages or vacant homes; ID theft when the victim isn’t financially harmed and reimbursed by their bank; harassing phone calls or emails; credit card theft if the charges arise outside Lansing and calls of lost property.
FAKE FAKE FAKE!! Every death is falsely reported as Covid 19.
It is a FLU, and kills people with pre existing conditions.
You know how in Italy the have the largest death rate?? The median age in Italy is 81y.o. and almost 90% of Italians smoke.
Do your own research! It's another Deep State Cabal bullshit false flag to get us to all take a vaccine and a chip (mark of the beast), as well as mail in voting so the can steal the election much easier.
They know they can't beat TRUMP and that he wants the Cabal defeated, they will do ANYTHING to stop it and Trump has to play the game or he's a "bad POTUS".
I am 100% right, mark my mother focking words....
Wanna discuss fake school shootings? I'm ready! That's the way to take your guns, your freedom and your liberty.
All our government does is distract us while they steal from us, misspend our tax $ and ruin our country
Two question comes to mine, why release a fake virus in China when the target is US related, and second, how does something fake get confirmed and not questioned.... world wide? It's kind of like the claim of the fake moon landings, why wouldn't Russia expose the US, we weren't exactly friends back then and there's ways to prove we were there, one being there's a mirror setup on the moon so if a laser is aimed in the right spot, it can reflect the light and the reflection can be detected.
In the precious metals world, fake coins, bars, etc can be an issue. Sell just one, it might go undetected. However, sell 1000s on say Ebay, and you get caught fast. If Trump knows it's a fake virus, why would he play the game instead of exposing the truth with proof to back it up? Not doubting the left is abusing this situation any way they can, I just don't completely agree on the source of the virus, or the lack of a virus. I'll be honest though, I don't know anyone directly that's effected (sick/dead). I do know one guy over seas that has a family member with a confirmed case.
I'm a fairly skeptical person, I tend to check with several sources to validate things and I don't trust a random person that makes videos. Patterns can be found in anything if you look hard enough. Like just a random example that popped in my head just now, 3wheelerworld.... 3ww ..... ww3, is the admin going to start a world war? Don't think so.
One thing you have to keep in mind with "researching", when you google for something, google's job is to match what you search with a pattern on websites along with your past history of searches and clicks. If you look for "fake covid 19", you're going to find a ton of sites that claim it's fake, if you search for say "covid 19 electron microscope", you get photos of the virus... which are of the corona (crown) virus type. If you look up "sars electron microscope", you'll see similar images. You can also see photos of influenza. Clearly to the untrained eye, they look similar or the same.
Our Provincial government has now placed a fire ban/Off Highway Vehicle ban for the whole North and West part of the province to make sure front line resources aren't tied up fighting fires and to ensure evacuations aren't needed. Now I do support a thought process such as this except............we still have over a foot of snow on the ground! I called the provincial officer today and they will be lifting this rule today they suspect........no sh&t Sherlock, why not talk to your local enforcement officers instead of looking out the window in Edmonton 150 miles sw of us!

Maybe I'm crazy, but aren't fire fighters the ones that fight fires? Is there more fires than normal due to people being home?
Also, the off road vehicle ban in the logic of stopping fires, how many fires are caused by off road vehicles? I suspect there's not many fires caused by vehicles, big time if they have spark arrestors (required in Michigan for off road use). Seems like dumb policies are being made world wide eh?
I haven't heard of any issues in the US with more fires than normal. Online says there's less crime right now, but then again there's reports police aren't going after "small" crimes in some areas. Since there's less car wrecks etc, some hospitals are laying off workers, atleast as of what I've heard on youtube.
Anyway, pretty sure you have more snow there right now than my area in Michigan has had all year. It was a weird winter.
I'm not really sure where the "fake virus" idea came from, but I'll address the "release a virus on your own people" line of thinking:
It's called "Plausible Deniability":
Communists place no value on human life, even their citizens, not to mention non communist citizens. A search of the amount of people killed by communist dictators is quite tellling.Plausible deniability is the ability of people (typically senior officials in a formal or informal chain of command) to deny knowledge of or responsibility for any damnable actions committed by others in an organizational hierarchy because of a lack of evidence that can confirm their participation, even if they were personally involved in or at least willfully ignorant of the actions.
China was pissed at the U.S. for the tariffs, which is a whole other topic, but I will say that when the U.S. is paying double digit tariffs and China is paying single digit tariffs on each others goods, That ain't "fair trade". A trade war is like a staring contest, first one to break loses, and China was on the brink of breaking soon.
Having the virus "accidentally" escape from the lab in Wuhan (It's been revealed that there were no bats being sold in the Wuhan wet market. Allegedly) allows them to use your question as an alibi: "Why would we release a deadly virus on our own people? That's preposterous."
They locked down the Wuhan area as soon as their lies were discovered, but still allowed international travel? How many people had sashayed thru the Wuhan area potentially picking up the virus and carrying it across China and possibly the globe?
While destroying the U.S. economy may have been the main goal, trashing the economy of most or all of the countries in the world benefits the Chinese even more, particularly when China wants to control the world markets of just about everything. They've been sending out masks that have been found to be ineffective in recent weeks, how convenient is that?

Going about things a little differently, now. Not the best situation, but I’ve not been sick from the virus. Just sick in general. Lucky enough to have a project I’m head over heels for. Take care, guys.
As for the question of OHV's starting fires, it's actually quite common here as the terrain that is around us is called "muskeg" or "moose meadow" or "loon sh&t". It's basically a floating bog of peat moss that when dried out on top of exhaust systems and such, it smolders and drops off on the trails and starts fires quite easily. Peat is what they used to burn in Ireland for heat homes back in the day. So normally I would support the ban but not when we're under water still.

I see. I guess another factor is Michigan gets a lot of rain because of the great lakes too so generally speaking things don't dry out that much.
At the start of the state shut down there was higher traffic than normal for atv's on my road (state land at the end of it), but it seems like that traffic has really died down.
