when my honda 200e is warm and i shut it off you can hear something still spinning inside and the come to a stop. I think i only hear it from the side with the pull start. I know there is nothing on that side but the cam chain. I really dont want to start pulling the engine apart and just guessing.
Any ideas before i go in????

Dont pull your engine out or anytrhing, this is a common thing on BigReds (i have 3) im not sure what causes it, but i think its from the connecting gears to the starter. Dont worry about it all the bigreds i have seen do the same spinning type of sounds when the are shut offf while revving.

The sound is the startor spinning when you shut it off,its nothing to worry about.

my atc200 does that.
I thought it would be something to do with a wore out auto clutch.
maybe the clutch is still good.

My 250sx does it too -- seems to be something with the starter because all quads I have ridden with electric start do this. Wouldn't worry about it.

my 81 atc200 does it and its recoil only.
I would like to know what it is.

Sounds like a one way clutch problem - Do the recoil ATC's have a one way bearing clutch?? like the SX?

the auto clutch has one... i just had it apart 2 mos ago...i guess that could be it. but as long as it wont damage...i wont worry!

My one 200 does that to, its a84 200s motor just pull start, we got use to it and just call it the turbo slowing down

yea i got a 185 that does it too, and if u put it in gear real quick when it's spinning it will jump foward...
