1984 Honda atc 200es, so what is the valve lifter lever on the right side of head I noticed it can be lifted up and down I’m just not sure what it’s purpose is. I didn’t a search and couldn’t find anything? Thanks

It’s a compression release so if you use the recoil to start it turns the motor over with less resistance .
